It is based on structures recognised by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), a government-approved body for the further education and skills sector. Most training centres would expect that you have this qualification when teaching in the FE and HE sectors or working towards it. This qualification also allows you to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status enabling you to become a teacher in state schools in the UK (teaching ages 14+).
