Blood transfusions ensure that the most gravely injured patients suffering a major bleed have the best chance of getting to hospital through increasing oxygen delivery and clot production. EAAA’s Blood on Board project has involved raising in excess of £90,000 and essential partnership working between two of the region’s hospitals, Addenbrooke’s and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), and two volunteer-driven blood biker charities, SERV Suffolk and Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Blood Bikes, to ensure a high-quality, daily supply of red blood cells to each of the EAAA operational bases.

We began cleaning various coves along the Jurassic Coast and Poole Harbour but quickly began to realise that beach cleaning alone was not going to be enough and we started to look into how they could solve these problems. With the amazing support of an incredible community and some forward thinking businesses, we now have an impressive project list, striving to put long term solutions in place. But, of course, this wasn’t enough. As our passion grew ever stronger for the environment, we began working our way inland. Oceans aren’t the only planetary marvel in danger of collapse; our forests and wildlife are as equally vulnerable, and desperately need our help!

Arcswood is a social enterprise providing Training Courses and Grounds & Woodland Maintenance Services in Pembrokeshire, based at the Rural Skills Training Centre, Pembroke School. We are a registered Community Interest Company with a passion to ensure that young people and adults in our community do not become disadvantaged by a lack of volunteering, work experience and training opportunities. Our aim is to support young people and adults of all abilities, including those with additional learning needs. To achieve this aim we have developed three innovative methods of support: 1. Combining volunteering, work experience and assisted employment with a successful high quality grounds and woodlands maintenance service. This ensures participants gain valuable experience in a real workplace environment. 2. Developing community conservation projects to enable volunteers from the local area to learn conservation skills, work towards benefiting the community and benefiting the community and building an ethos of volunteering. 3. Providing nationally recognised work related land based training . Arcswood CIC is a registered training centre for Lantra Awards. This ensures participants gain the skills, experience and qualifications necessary to improve their chances of gaining employment or progressing to further training.
