The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (L5 DET), formerly known as Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), is an industry-standard qualification for those teaching in the post-16 sector. It is based on structures recognised by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), a government-approved body for the further education and skills sector. Most training centres would expect that you have this qualification when teaching in the FE and HE sectors or working towards it. This qualification also allows you to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status enabling you to become a teacher in state schools in the UK (teaching ages 14+). The awarding body of this course is Focus Awards which UK Ofqual fully accredits. This level 5 teaching qualification is delivered 100% online as a distance learning programme.
