David has nearly forty years of educational experience as a teacher, senior manager, local authority consultant and school improvement adviser. His work with individual and groups of schools across the UK and abroad is always focused on ways of achieving improved outcomes for pupils through the professional development of teachers. David’s annual training programmes around the country attract hundreds of teachers and receive outstanding evaluations. He also contributes to Early Years and Primary SCITT, Teach Direct and university PGCE programmes. Whether working directly with teachers and senior leaders in schools or writing new learning and teaching materials, David always seeks to improve the engagement and raise the performance of children and young people at all stages through the carefully planned progression of key subject knowledge, concepts and skills. David’s focus is always on learning and in particular on identifying challenging subject outcomes which are made accessible to pupils through key question led enquiries both inside and outside of the classroom. He has particular expertise in designing cross curricular learning programmes which integrate the teaching of English and Mathematics as part of relevant and engaging investigations which support pupils to study places, issues, people and events at depth rather than on a superficial level. His enquiry-based approach teaches important subject knowledge whilst emphasising the significance of teachers allowing time and opportunity for pupils to master key subject skills and outcomes by ‘doing less better’. David has been a Harper Collins author at primary and secondary levels for many years and his Primary Connected Geography framework published in 2016 was highly commended by the Geographical Association and was his third such publications award. The corresponding Primary Connected History scheme was published in 2018. As well as Geography and History David also has particular expertise in developing Education for Sustainability (encompassing environmental education, global citizenship and outdoor learning) and associated sustainable schools programmes. In addition to his national programme of Geography and History training David also provides bespoke support to individual or federations of schools and to subject leaders across the United Kingdom and internationally. Having personally grownup and lived the maktab/madrasah education experience in the 80’s and 90’s and started teaching in the late 90’s to the present day, coupled with fatherhood, I have had the opportunity to build a close understanding and interest in making sure our community can provide a learning experience to young Muslims that is relevant and relatable for the world they live in. This is despite the limitations we have in resourcing and time. In a time when our children are surrounded with competing ideologies and ways of living, and with maktab education being foundational to their lives as Muslims, it is critical that it hits home for them as independently thinking individuals. I would like to thank our wonderful teachers and parents over the years for their trust and belief in the vision that there was always a better way to educate our children. Teachers have worked tirelessly to develop the curriculum whilst simultaneously delivering it diligently. Keeping one eye on current student progress and an eye on the horizon. In this fast changing world we have constantly reflected on the effectiveness of our content and delivery in preparing for the future. We at Tiny Tekkers firmly believe in developing the new generation of sports people by giving everybody the chance to have a positive relationship with sports and an active lifestyle. With the heightened importance that sport and physical activity has on a child's development at the forefront of the companies visions, we have created fun based programmes to aid in the development of fine and gross motor skills. Our goal is to provide high quality sports coaching to as many children in Sussex as possible. We provide a variety of classes and clubs for all children to be able to have access to elite coaching enabling them to positively participate in a range of sports. These sessions are all easily accessible and we do not discriminate on ability or experience level. For our youngest age groups, physical development is crucial for the ability to explore and interact with the world around them. We use disguised learning techniques based around fun games to ensure your children leave every week with a smile on their face. Your child's growth will be accelerated through our weekly sessions which will improve their overall well being and give them a head start in school. We as a company provide sports coaching to a wide variety of audiences across Sussex. Our classes cater for children of all ages with the youngest sessions available to children aged 18 months.

Duet Academy of Dance was established in 1997 with classes held in Glen Parva. All lessons are given under the personal tuition of the principal teacher, Miss Sara, who has been teaching for more than 30 years and is a fully qualified, registered teacher of the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA). We are delighted to have recently welcomed former Duet dancer, Miss Lyd, to the teaching faculty. Miss Lyd brings a wealth of performance experience being actively involved in a wide variety of shows at The Little Theatre. MIss Lyd taken part in the annual pantomimes for the past 10 years, 8 of which as dance captain. She is also a qualified zumba instructor. Lessons are held in ballet, tap, modern jazz, acrobatics and stage performance. All students are given the opportunity to take examinations leading to accredited qualifications and to take part in our annual show and medal tests focusing on performance skills. Lessons are structured to improve your child's social and listening skills, develop confidence, build self-esteem and assist with their physical development and mental well-being. For the younger children we have lots of dancing fun, singing, making friends and is a brilliant introduction to music and movement to help them to appreciate the joy of dance from an early age. Our focus for all age groups is on building confidence, learning new skills and having fun. We teach children from 3 years of age to adults and take great pride in seeing them excel as they progress their journey in dance.
