Kathy King is a Science and Psychology specialist who has worked with a variety of vulnerable groups including young people with special educational needs, including social, emotional and behavioural problems, and the homeless. She is passionate about showing others the power of being active in nature and using outdoor activities as a tool to improve wellbeing. Her research has proven that participation in a 6-week Forest School programme can increase attendance and reduce exclusion rates from mainstream school. Applying the fundamentals of the holistic Forest School approach in all that she does, Kathy believes this can create positive changes in behaviour. Kathy made a life-changing decision to leave teaching and enrol on an outdoor instructor programme after experiencing high levels of work-related stress and anxiety. The 2-day a week course provided an opportunity to master new skills and focus on what she considered to be most important in life. It was on the water that the idea for the Wild Camp Training Programme was born. This is a project aimed at young women who are currently out of education, employment and/or training (N.E.E.T) and is designed to empower and increase physical and mental health. Since then, the charity has evolved to deliver after school clubs, forest school sessions, holiday clubs, 1-1 outdoor activity sessions and group days out.

The Inclusive Bangladesh Development (IBD) is the one of the intelligence supporting Build Bangladesh. It has commenced its journey by investing in human capital. IBD is based on the strong foundation of social empowerment, economic entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability works demonstrated by the Impress Group through their media stream Channel I over last 16 years. It will create opportunities for corporate sectors, global Bangladeshis and individual investors to invest in human capital in Bangladesh through various best practice models such as Social Impact Bonds (SIB), Social Impact Investments (SII) including Corporate Social Impact Investment (CSII).

At Hoofprints we rehome and rehabiliate welfare horses. When they come to us they are withdrawn, often very underweight and weak, they require alot of understanding and ptience to bring the best out of them. This takes months. We have since rehomes over 21 horses in the last 9 years. “It was a delight to visit Hoofprints today and witness its fantastic works. Lucy and her volunteers do a wonderful job, not only in teaching local children and adults to ride, but also in rehabilitating and caring for horses in dire need of care. “Lucy has a wealth of expertise and it was clear that the invaluable instruction she imparts is filling youngsters with an enthusiasm for riding which hopefully will last a lifetime. However, the team there know as well as anyone that riding lessons, even though Lucy’s charges are competitive, are beyond the pockets of many people. Because #Science, we know that regular exercise is crucial to maintaining good physical and even mental health, so it's our job to make it as enjoyable and accessible as possible for everyone, from Auntie May who's a little on the heavy side to Nephew Billie who's at college, living on pot noodles. After years working in commercial central London gyms, Sapan wanted to create the anti-gym; a fun and friendly space, full of laughs and good times, that anyone and everyone would feel welcome in- less machines, less mirrors. We pride ourselves on leaving our fitfam with a warm and fuzzy feeling after class, and super sore muscles the next day! We love developing new and exciting classes and innovations that are unique to the studio e.g. Booty Camp, YogaHIIT, Lovercise and HulaFit. Nicky Evans (the owner of Happy Tails) has lived in Merthyr Tydfil 2008. She has 4 dogs – a Whippet called Smudge, a Lurcher called Maisey, a Jack Russell Terrier called Bryn and a rescue lurcher called Dixie. Nicky Evans is a “Master Dog Trainer” with the Guild of Dog Trainers and is currently studying for a degree in Canine Behaviour and Psychology with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training (CIDBT). Nicky also has a diploma (with distinction) in Canine Health & Nutrition with The British College of Canine Studies. I'm a previously P.E hating yoga fanatic who been practising yoga for 24 years and teaching for 7. I always saw myself as a nerdy, non-athletic kid in school until I discovered yoga and the benefits it has on both the body and the mind. When I was going through my teacher training I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Although this diagnosis has been in a lot of ways a negative for me there has also been positives. It has changed the way I practise yoga and the way I teach - it has made me so aware of how yoga can help people with physical limitations like me own, and how it can help people deal with mental affects of these conditions. I am now a Yoga Alliance, British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Federation of Northern Ireland certified teacher who was nominated for Yoga Provider of the Year 2019 in the Health and Fitness Awards NI and winner of the Yoga Instructor of the Year 2020/2021 in the Prestige awards Northern Ireland, specialising in a completely inclusive yoga, bringing yoga to everyone no matter what your physical limitations are. I bring yoga to people who aren't able to go to a 'standard' class, people who can't leave the house, people who didn't think yoga could ever be something they could do.

The idea for Community First came to mind in 2015 when we began to be approached by individuals and local organisations who were being supported by the good Samaritans and Volunteers who ran them. Because of their self identified lack of digital skills, they felt they were not being able to fully benefit the organisations they were supporting. Something as simple as emailing, sharing information or reaching their most isolated members was an area that was causing great concern. This was a need we could see and luckily one we could most definitely meet. We then began being asked for similar help but on a commercial level by small and start up-businesses. Because we wouldn’t take any kind of payment, we started to receive boxes of sweets, biscuits and bottles of wine. Whilst this was very generous, it wasn’t too good for our waistlines or general health!! So when we were offered a donation towards future support we might give to others, a sort of Pay it Forward idea, CommunityfirstUK was formed. We went on to register as a Social Enterprise limited by guarantee in 2016 where any profit our organisation makes goes back into other projects allowing us to support more people and organisations, not just with digital but with needs they have that we can help with.
