We focus on developing both creativity and skills. Creativity is valued very highly in the contemporary society. Creative professions are in greatest demand. Purposeful creative people always find an opportunity to successfully realise their potential. Our classes help to make dreams come true and give the herenow enjoyment. Dance shows, performances and exhibitions are envisaged as an outcome of dance and art classes.

Hi there! I’m Karen Holmes, manager and owner of Play Academy. In the Summer of 2019, my life took a huge, exciting turn when I took on this wonderful club. Up until then, I had spent 20 years as a very happy & successful Primary School teacher. During my time as a teacher, I had the pleasure of working with many, many children across the primary age range. I also trained as a student mentor and worked alongside trainee teachers supporting & developing practice. In addition to this I was also responsible for the PSHE curriculum across the whole school, an area I am still massively passionate about. Whilst building my career as an educator, I was also bringing up my two gorgeous sons Toby & Zach. Because I was juggling being a mum with being a teacher, I fully understand the desire parents have for quality wrap around care for children; it’s something my husband and I accessed for our two lovely boys during their primary years. As my career progressed and opportunities were being put in front of me, I paused for a bit and realised that teaching was no longer for me. I was spending less and less time doing the things that had steered me into teaching in the first place; planning, creating & facilitating new and fun quality experiences for children. I wanted to get back to just having ‘fun’ with little people, blowing bubbles, building dens, playing boards games, enjoying the outdoors and most of all…….laughing! To allow children a comfortable, home from home space to practise being good citizens, develop key life skills and master the art of a two way conversation.

We are an independent multidisciplinary centre offering children’s therapy services in the South East of England, Kent, East Sussex, as well as nationally and internationally. We have an expanding team of highly specialised professionals offering assessment and treatment for children. In addition, we offer support to families, carers and to schools. Our team includes Paediatric Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Play Therapists, CBT practitioners, Psychotherapists, Behaviour consultants, Neurofeedback Practitioners, Clinical Nutritionists and an Audio Vestibular Consultant. We collaborate with Educational Psychologists, Optometrists, Special Education Needs Coordinators (Sencos), Touch Typing specialists and many others. Starjumpz offers an integrated and holistic approach to helping and empowering children, young people and their families. The services offered assist those with developmental, learning, motor and/or behavioural difficulties. Amongst many therapeutic approaches we offer, we specialise in Sensory Integration Therapy and have therapy rooms equipped to the highest standards by our partner, Rompa, the leading UK Sensory Rooms designer and supplier. We also offer Neurofeedback treatment for both children and adults. We are building on the work of the Christmas Childrens Clinic established in 1989, by Jill Christmas, Occupational Therapist and author of ‘Hands on Dyspraxia’ and ‘Sensory Dinosaurs’. Based in Crowborough, East Sussex, we offer therapy in the centre and also in schools and children’s homes. We also offer intensive therapy to clients from all over the UK and abroad who come to visit and stay for courses of intensive treatment. In addition to assessment and treatment, we offer intensive therapies, holiday courses, and are working towards providing group treatment and training for parents and professionals. We are able to cater for larger groups and regularly work with social groups, charities, clubs and schools offering bespoke sessions as required and host birthday parties for children. Our aim is to make your visit to us as enjoyable as possible and as such we offer a friendly welcome whether you are on your own or with friends and family. We are on hand if guidance or inspiration is needed and if you are more advanced in pottery glazing, we have more specialised resources available too. Top Class Computers has 29 years of experience in providing help and support with assistive software or hardware for people with a disability who use a computer. The company was founded in 1993 by Neil Sleight, shortly after being made redundant! He had previously worked in the computer industry for 20 years, but became interested in software and equipment for children with a disability following the birth of his son James, who has Down’s Syndrome. (James is now doing well in supported living in Witney, after attending the excellent Derwen College in Shropshire). Although we tend to specialise in technology such as voice recognition and screen reading, we are available to help and support anyone with a disability, and voice recognition software is now in widespread use at home, university, or in the workplace.
