At Change Grow Live, above all else we believe in people. It's the one thing that acts as a foundation for all our work. If you use our services: we understand what you're going through. We won't judge. We believe you can make positive changes in your life. If you work or volunteer for us: we believe in your potential. We believe you can do brilliant, life-changing work. If you're one of our partners: we believe that together we can deliver real value and positive change in our local communities. Our mission and vision Our mission is to help people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential. The vision we're working towards is to develop, deliver and share a whole person approach that changes society. Values Our values work together, as principles that guide the way we act and the choices we make. Be open, be compassionate, be bold. Make a difference We exist to help people achieve their goals, to be the best that they can be and to help change society for the better. This is true whether we are talking about the people who use our services, our staff or our volunteers. We are not in control of everything that impacts upon the people who use our services. However, we are in control of what we do, how we behave and where we focus our expertise, resources and energy. Our aim is to work together to challenge stigma and oppression. We want our charity to be a place where our staff and people who use our services are respected and engaged. Ultimately we want to make life safer, easier and better for as many people as we can.

Newbattle High School

Welcome to our website where I hope that you enjoy it and find what you are looking for. I am honoured and privileged to be the Head Teacher of Newbattle High School. I am proud to be leading such a great school where our vision and values are centred on supporting all young people to exceed beyond their potential. This is reflected in our school motto “Challenge” and our hashtag “AIMHIGHER”. The school’s ethos is ambitious, inclusive and supportive. Based within our Community Campus, working together for better outcomes is a priority and I see this every day in action where we know, and are proud of, our students. We are well supported by our parents/carers, community and partners both in and outside of school. A few aspects of our vision which sets us apart. All students are strongly encouraged to stay on until the end of S6 with correct courses to suit every young adult. These range from Advanced Higher, Work Based Learning, College Delivery onsite, Wider SCQF courses etc. We have an overwhelmingly nurturing ethos here where every student counts. This can be seen through our extensive and unique pastoral structure staffed with our Mental Wellbeing Nurse, Teacher of Wellbeing, Nurture staff, Outreach Teacher, Pupil Care and Welfare Officers and our fully funded Positive Learning. These important roles complement our House and Support for Learning teams. We are a Centre of Excellence Digitally with resources, partners, learning pedagogy etc to ensure that our pupils are advantaged digitally. We have learner pathways for career, College or University and have engaged Higher Education (Edinburgh University being a pivotal partner), Further Education (Edinburgh College being a pivotal partner) and Businesses as partners in the totality of our curriculum and school.

The Partnering Initiative

the partnering initiative

Oxford

The Partnering Initiative (TPI) was founded in 2003, with the passionate belief that only through collaboration among business, government, NGOs and the UN can we achieve the shared vision of a prosperous economy, thriving societies and a healthy environment. With roots going back to 1990, TPI is the world’s longest-established organisation dedicated to multi-stakeholder partnering. It remains internationally recognised as a pioneer of the field and continues to combine cutting-edge partnering theory, with direct action globally to drive effective partnering. TPI uniquely spans a spectrum from influence at the highest levels of international policy (including through our strong engagement with the United Nations system and international business organisations), through to drawing out learning and codifying practice from partnering managers on the frontline. TPI’s cutting-edge thinking, foundational concepts, frameworks and tools have helped to shape and define the field of multi-stakeholder partnering. TPI’s tools and guidebooks on all aspects of partnering have been downloaded over 50,000 times and have been used as the basis for multiple organisations’ internal guidance. TPI has trained over 4,000 people in effective partnering both through open and tailored training courses. It has guided the development of six in-country partnership platforms, resulting in the creation of multiple partnerships around the world. It has supported organisations such as Unicef, World Vision, the World Food Programme, Care International, Ikea Group, to develop their partnering strategies and build their institutional capacity to partner. And it has developed policy pieces that have influenced the United Nations system and international donors in their engagement and support of partnering. TPI’s work is guided by a UK-based core team, and delivered through a global network of associates and sister organisations based in over 20 countries.

Baptist Union of Scotland

baptist union of scotland

Glasgow

The Baptist Union of Scotland is a network of about 160 churches across the length and breadth of Scotland. We are local churches who recognise that if we are to fulfil the commission Jesus has given his disciples, it is better to work together than continue alone. We are a relational network who support one another through prayer and encouragement. We share resources and experience in mission. We equip and accredit leaders. We work together to develop vision and ensure legal compliance. We have existed as a network since 1869, though some of our churches have been in existence since the 1750s. Our ambition is to see Increase and we are focusing on three strategic priorities: Prayer – defining ourselves as a prayer network Planting Churches – investing in new congregations, revitalisations and innovative new churches Developing Pathways – for training and equipping church planters and evangelistic leaders The vision around which we gather is our Declaration of Principle, which states: That the Lord Jesus Christ our God and Saviour is the sole and absolute Authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried and rose again the third day. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.

Each workshop is different, in the past we have run workshops marbling, playing with clay, beeswax wrap making, making an art attack and a fire engine! Monthly Creative Workshops: we run affordable monthly workshops are for adults of all abilities. You do not need any creative experience to attend any of the workshops and we make them as accessible as possible. One off Workshops: run one off workshops for all ages and are often commissioned to create workshops for specific groups or projects. Commissioned workshops: We at Myriad love creating workshops which are tied into events, causes, projects or are wonderfully extraordinary! We have been commissioned to create workshops for many other people and organisations. We are a creative bunch and if you have an idea or something you want made, we can make it into a workshop! We love a challenge! A bit more about us as an organisation… Myriad’s Vision: Myriad’s vision is a society where everyone has confidence in their creativity, regularly enjoys creating wonderful things and engaging with the arts. Myriad’s Mission: To run workshops that bring people together in a fun, relaxed and social environment to nurture their creative confidence and develop their skills. We have met too many people who believe they are not creative, and that are put off participating in any arts project because of fear. We believe that everyone is creative, that they are capable of making amazing things and can get a lot of enjoyment from doing so. We know that sometimes people just need to learn skills to express their creativity and need support and feedback to help them build their confidence, in a non-pressure environment.
