Diamond Dance was established by Sian Pargetor in 2010 and started with a few basic lessons on a Saturday, to include a baby class, Tap, Ballet and Modern examination work. It wasn’t long before the timetable grew and additional classes were added. It began with the addition of an Acrobatics class, quickly followed by Street dance, private lessons and Festival class and in more recent years the addition of Contemporary and Musical Theatre. The first ever Diamond Dance show was held at the Community Centre back in 2011 with a small showcase. In 2013 Dance Infinity was established and is now a bi-annual show put on by all the pupils at the school. With the schools growth in 2013 and 2015 the shows were performed at Blue Coat Theatre and new from 2017 Dance Infinity moved to the Albany Theatre. Diamond Dance is involved in many Community events and has been seen at the Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey, Godiva Festival, local fetes, Supermarket events, and Chaplin’s Princess Ball to name a few. Sian is keen to take part in these events as it gives the pupils extra performance opportunities. Please get in touch if you would like us to perform at your event. Pupils can expect to be given incredible workshop opportunities whilst attending Diamond Dance both at the Studios and outside events. A favourite is the bi-annual trip to Butlin’s Skegness where Diamond Dance take part in the British Theatre Dance Association Gala weekend. However, it’s not all about the dancing. Sian made friends for life when she was a dancer at the Sylvia Bird Dance School and hopes that the pupils of Diamond Dance will make these same lifelong friendships. Therefore, you will often see us on trips to the theatre or the parents on a night out. It all adds to the friendly atmosphere that is part of the school. For many years the school was based at its local Community Centre and hired the space per session. However, in August 2017 Diamond Dance moved to its new premises and their own Dance Studios. Diamond Studios consists of three studio spaces, a parents waiting area and even hosts a “chill out room” for its pupils. The space is available to hire and you should contact the studios if you are interested in this.

At Alliance Boxing Club our goal is to provide the opportunity for anyone to keep fit, stay healthy and learn the value of hard work, discipline, self-respect and respect of others. We are an Affiliated Member of the Amateur Boxing Association of England and our trainers are England Boxing Certified. This allows us to provide both a high standard of coaching and offer competitive opportunities to our members on the amateur boxing circuit. We're not all about competitive boxing though. Boxing is a great way to increase fitness levels and manage weight. We have a range of boxing, fitness, strength and conditioning classes, including kids and female only, that provide fun, full body workouts in a positive, friendly atmosphere. Our classes are perfect for helping with weight loss and toning and are designed to allow you to work at your own pace. We can provide 1-2-1 training too or if you prefer you can come down and do your own work out. To keep the club as accessible as possible we like to keep things simple. We don’t charge membership fees or ask you to sign up to contracts. You just pay when you come down to train or take a class. It’s that easy. The club is owned and run by professional boxer Sam Smith and former powerlifter, now boxer Graham Mattison. Sam and Graham are hugely positive and inspiring influences, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the Club. In 2018 they were winners of the Coach Participation Award at the Leeds Sports Awards. Sam has been boxing for over a decade, has held multiple titles including WBF & WBU. Currently the British Masters Champion she is the only British female in her division to be world ranked. Graham has boxed for about 4 years, prior to which he had great success in powerlifting being ranked second in the world at professional level. Our gym is equipped with an array of boxing equipment including cardio machines, punch bags, free weights and strength and conditioning machines. We have our own club mini bus to help our boxers travel around to competitions and championships. We're conveniently located less than a minute from Crossgates Shopping Centre, just off the Leeds Outer Ring Road, making us easily accessible from all across Leeds and beyond. The gym is on the 1st floor with great access and we have plenty of free secure parking.

Bath Sword Club, established in 1948 has been a part of the local community for the last 70 years. The club encourages fencers of all abilities and ambitions, and prides itself on its inclusive and friendly atmosphere. We enjoy fencing and promoting all 3 weapons and have a senior club member as a mentor in each weapon to help new members participate in club nights and competitions as they like. Coaching is provided by professional, qualified coaches. Bath Sword Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) run by a Committee of volunteers. We employ highly qualified professional coaches catering for all levels, from beginners to potential Olympians and from juniors beginning their journey in fencing to veteran fencers (some of whom are also beginning their journey into fencing!). Our youngest member is 8 and our oldest member still regularly competing is in his 70s. Our club members have a wide range of ability, from those just beginning fencing to those competing at international and world championship level. All are welcome and catered for, fencing is a fantastic sport to engage children and adults alike. The academy can be found nestled at the foot of the Humber Bridge in Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire, within a Grade II listed building known as The Ropewalk. Hall’s Barton Ropery was an international name of excellence in the shipping and many other industries for 200 years. Hall’s Ropes made on the Barton site were used on all the major shipping lines and for the first ascent of Everest. The factory was closed in 1989 and lay dormant until April 2000 when one fifth of the building was restored and opened as an arts centre housing 2 galleries, artists workshops, picture framing business and a Heritage Display. The centre currently attracts in excess of 20,000 visitors per year and is run by The Waterside Artists Co-operative. In September 2005 the rest of the building was restored and is now home to 12 artist’s studios and 18 units being used for creative industries including digital, media, design and other related industries including a fantastic coffee shop and The Nigel Brown Cookery Academy. The Academy is easily accessible by car, roughly an hours’ drive from Lincoln, Leeds, York and Sheffield with plenty of free parking. You can also reach us by train or bus, our nearest bus/rail station is Barton and the academy is a short walk away.
