Richard Morris is a British racing driver and is currently a works driver for Revolution Race Cars competing in the European Sports Prototype Cup. He is also the creator of the Racing Pride movement to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusion through motorsport. Richard’s racing career began in 2004 in Junior TKM karting, before progressing through Senior TKM from 2007, and in 2011 he moved into the supremely fast 250-gearbox class, establishing himself as one of the leading drivers at British Championship level. This culminated in him taking 2nd in the English Championship and 3rd in the British Open Championship for 250-gearbox karts in 2016. A former international fencer for England and Great Britain, and a B.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. graduate of Cambridge University, Richard turned his full sporting attention to motorsport when he stepped up into car racing in 2017. For the 2017 season Richard entered the competitive Formula Ford 1600 single-seater category at Castle Combe circuit, driving for the Swift Cooper team in their 1992 Swift SC92 chassis and racing in Class B. Richard announced himself immediately, qualifying on pole position for his very first car race. A podium finish followed at his second meeting, and he took his first win at only his third meeting, which was also the first time he had driven the car in wet conditions. 8 pole positions and 4 wins from just 9 races followed in a successful season. In 2018 Richard continued to rise, joining the BRSCC Formula Ford 1600 National Championship with Swift Cooper. Richard took 2nd place in his class in the National Championship, again with 4 wins. Richard first tested a sports prototype car with Spire Sports Cars at Donington Park in November 2018. After an impressive test, Richard was offered the opportunity to race the team’s latest GT3s prototype in the RGB Sports 1000 Championship for the 2019 season. Two highly successful seasons followed in which Richard racked up 15 podium finishes from 22 races. In 2019 Richard was crowned Sports 1000 Vice Champion in his debut year of prototype racing and in a part season (due to Covid) in 2020 he claimed wins at 3 out of the 4 race meetings he contested and set a new lap record at Snetterton. In 2021 Richard raced the Praga R1T in the Britcar British Endurance Championship with CWPerformance. The Championship enjoys a large following, TV exposure, and features cars from many of motorsport’s most prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Lamborghini. Richard and his teammate Christopher Wesemael won more races and had more podium finishes than any other driver pairing, taking 3 wins and 6 podiums from 9 races. In January 2022 Richard signed as a works driver for Revolution Race Cars. He will race in the 2022 Sports Prototype Cup, which will be contested across 5 iconic Grand Prix circuits in 5 different countries, as well as undertaking test, driver coaching, and demonstration work for Revolution.

I’m Michael Starkey. I’m an experienced music tutor offering lessons for 5 string banjo and acoustic guitar in Edinburgh, Scotland. These are for individuals and groups of all ages and abilities who maybe don’t know how to get started with their playing; feel stuck with where their playing is at; or are looking to hone their skills further by developing specific playing techniques. I help musicians (and aspiring musicians): Get their playing off the ground by learning the basic skills needed to begin making music Appreciate their existing skills and build on these by offering advice and ways to move forward with their playing Gain confidence making music with other people Develop techniques specific to old time clawhammer banjo playing, fingerpicking folk and country-blues acoustic guitar and acoustic guitar accompaniment for traditional folk music My reasons for teaching: I believe that music has had a very positive impact on my life. I started playing as a young teenager and have always been in bands and going out to gigs and sessions since. For me, it’s a good way to spend time with other people but also with myself. I find that when I’m playing, I’m less likely to be worrying about other things. A bit later on, I came across clawhammer banjo and old time stringband music and got obsessed. I found that there weren’t that many people to play with or learn from where I live so I decided to take up banjo teaching. I like to travel in the US, learn from musicians there, pickup new tricks and tunes and then bring them back over here to share. My experience: I am a full time musician, teacher (and gardener). I had my first guitar student when I was a teenager. I work with individual students from my home in Leith and also teach group classes for the Scots Music Group in Edinburgh. In recent years as a community gardener I have worked in therapeutic horticulture with people struggling with their mental health and with individuals with Autism. I’ve also worked as a tree planter. I play in a number of different bands, have toured and gigged across the UK and have made a number of recordings. I also co-host a weekly old time music session in Edinburgh. Sister to fashion designer Jasper, restaurateurs Tom and Ned and product designer Sebastian, Sophie has two wonderful grown-up children. Sophie left school early and worked through a variety of different jobs including apprenticing for Stephen Jones the couture milliner, working in Jasper's fashion empire, running a supper club which evolved into a catering company, working in a small business making boxer shorts and another hand-making lollipops. She delved into the world of interior design with various show homes, private homes and retail projects. She has worked as a buyer for both The Conran Shop and The Design Museum shop and also set up her own 'corner shop of the world' Wong Singh Jones in Notting Hill. Sophie moved to Melbourne, Australia for a couple of years where she worked for clothing and homeware brand Country Road and was a contributing writer for The Age newspaper and Belle magazine, as well as having her son Felix. On her return to the UK, Sophie had her daughter Coco. While raising her young children, she collaborated with her father on several of his restaurant interiors and worked again with Jasper on colour predictions and his range with Debenhams. Sophie launched Sophie Conran Pies - a gourmet collection of top quality, handmade pies, which won 4 medals at the Great Taste Awards. She supplied racecourses with her brand Great British Pies, which led to her debut cookbook Pies, published in November 2006. This was followed by Easy Pies for Marks and Spencer and later Soups and Stews, published in 2008. Sophie has been a contributing editor for the magazines Junior, House Beautiful, In Style and Country Living. Sophie regularly writes and develops recipes for her blog, newsletters, catalogues and publications. March 2006 saw the launch of Sophie’s hugely successful range with Portmeirion. The range has won many prestigious awards and is sold worldwide, with the range continuing to expand. Sophie now works with many amazing companies creating stunning, well-known ranges. The state of North Carolina requires anyone under the age of 18 to complete a driver education course consisting of at least 30 hours of classroom and a minimum of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. To be eligible to register for a class session, you must be 14 years and 6 months old by the first day of class. During the school year, students must register for class at the school that they attend. During the summer, students are permitted to take the class at any school within the county in which they attend school. Students may not cross into other counties to attend driver education class at any time. Your first step will be to visit our class schedule listing to see the upcoming sessions and sign up for a class. If your school does not hold online registration through our website, you will need to contact the school directly to register for a class. Though class sessions vary from school to school, most class sessions are eleven school days long with each session three hours in length and typically, there are no class sessions on Fridays. During the summer, there are no excused absences. Students must attend all sessions to get credit for the class. Once the student has completed the classroom phase of driver education, the students from each class are placed in order by date of birth from the oldest to the youngest and will be driven in that order. You should receive a call within 30-90 days of classroom completion from your instructor to set up your behind-the-wheel schedule. Some of the larger areas are between 90-120 days due to the shortage of instructors. Our instructors will do their best to work with your schedule. Most instructors drive afternoons, evenings, and on Saturdays. Some instructors drive mornings before school. There is no one-on-one instruction. There will be a total of two or three students in the vehicle at all times. Students will be picked up and dismissed from the school campus. It is the parents’ responsibility to provide transportation to and from driver education. It typically takes three to four days to complete the behind-the-wheel phase. On the last day of driving, the instructor will issue a completion certificate. This certificate does not expire. You will then need to obtain a driver eligibility certificate which is provided by the high school and verifies that the student meets the requirements of the adequate progress law. The driver eligibility certificate expires 30 days from the issue date. Once you have these forms (along with your birth certificate and social security card) you may visit the DMV to apply for your permit.
