Welcome to The Gryphon SchoolThe Gryphon School opened in September 1992 as a Dorset County Council voluntary controlled Church of England School. It replaced three former schools – Foster’s, Lord Digby’s and St Aldhelms which had served Sherborne for many years. Lord Digby’s began in 1743 and Fosters in 1640. The new Headteacher was Mr Chris Shepperd (MA Oxon) and the School opened with 853 students. The foundation stone for the new school buildings and campus were laid by The Right Reverend John Baker, Lord Bishop of Salisbury on July 23 1993 on the site of St Aldhelms School. The new school was formally opened by HRH The Duchess of Gloucester GCVO on 15 November 1994. In 2004 the School became a Specialist School for Business and Enterprise – the first in Dorset. As part of this development The Gryphon Conference Centre was added and opened by HRH The Earl of Wessex KCVO on 28 April 2006. Whilst the specialist school system has ended the School has maintained considerable links with the local community and businesses.

Clay Works Studios Dumfries is a Ceramic/Pottery workshop which provides a friendly, informal and supportive environment where everyone is welcome to come and get hands on with Clay, learn new Ceramic techniques and/or develop existing skills. portrait.jpg LAUREN TAYLOR Lauren graduated from Glasgow School of Art with BA (hons) Ceramics in 2000. Following this she worked for Dalton Pottery in Dumfries & Galloway, assisting people to throw pots and helping with the production of their slipcast ceramics. Whilst traveling in Australia she worked for various potters making functional Pottery on the wheel. On return Lauren moved to Totnes in Devon to work as an Apprentice at Dartington Pottery. Here she gained in depth practical knowledge of pottery workshop practice . Lauren went on to work as Production Thrower for Dartington Pottery until she moved to North Devon to work as Ceramics technician and recreational Teacher at North Devon College. Whilst working at the College she also completed PCET Teacher training qualification. Since the birth of her first Daughter in 2008, Lauren has been mainly working as a mother, whilst also making pots and doing pencil Portraits. Lauren exhibited her porcelain vases as part of Spring Fling 2012, and has exhibited her Ceramics since at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. I followed my wonderful art foundation course at Colchester with a degree in ceramics at Birmingham Poly. I founded Dalton Pottery in 1989 with my late husband Geoff and we enjoyed over 25 happy years working together and raising two brilliant sons. They say that the only thing you can be sure of in life, is that it will keep changing. Some of those changes are very hard, and I have found the one thing that always gets me through those challenges is my creativity and the creative community. Chris and Lauren have built such a wonderful resource at Clayworks and I am proud to be part of the team. One of the most rewarding things about spending a lifetime understanding the medium of clay, is passing on those skills to those who are just discovering how meditative and rewarding it is to work with. Whether painting, potting, sculpting, writing, or teaching I hope to never stop pushing the boundaries and challenging myself to be the best I can. 120777122_2839475512940495_7861241450601659473_n.jpg CHRIS TAYLOR After graduating from the University of the West of England in 1999 Chris became an apprentice at Dartington Pottery, Totnes. On completion of his apprenticeship he went on to work for several potters around the UK before beginning to develop his own range of tableware in 2005. In 2006 Chris became potter in residence at the Beaford Arts Centre where he worked until its closure in 2013. In 2009 Chris began studying for an MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art graduating in 2011. It was during this period of study that Chris’ work evolved in to the heavily decorated and layered work seen today. In recent years Chris has won several awards for his work and exhibits across the UK in a variety of galleries and live events.In recent years Chris has worked as lecturer of Ceramics at Plymouth College of Art across the BA and MA programs. After graduating Abbie went on to work for Joanna Bird Contemporary Collections, London. Here she planned numerous exhibitions and oversaw the sale of significant ceramic works. Following this Abbie set up a home studio in Sussex. Here she began to develop her own work, primarily working with slab building and throwing. I previously worked in publishing for 10 years, including as publishing director for McGraw-Hill. I am a historian of Spain and Argentina, with extensive teaching experience and an outstanding academic record. In 2010, I completed a UK TEFL course and, since then, I have worked as a GCSE, A Level, English language and Spanish-language tutor in Madrid, London and Liverpool, respectively. Since 2018, I have taught undergraduate students in Spanish and History at the University of Leeds, where I am currently a doctoral researcher. In 2015, I graduated from University College London with a First Class Honours in Hispanic Studies, finishing top of my class and winning special awards for Spanish and Portugese. Inyoung Lee is a London-based South Korean actress, director, instructor, and acting coach with over a decade of experience in theatre and film. Her own practice has developed from her training in Korea combined with Western techniques such as Stanislavski, Anne Bogart/Viewpoints, Laban, Meisner, Michael Chekhov, and Grotowski. She earned her MFA in Actor Training and Coaching at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (RCSSD) in 2019. She also holds an MA in Film and a BA in English Literature from South Korea. Before moving to the UK she taught acting as a lecturer in a Konkuk University and other institutes in South Korea. In London she has led 1-1 coaching sessions, group workshops at RCSSD / East 15 Acting School and worked as an assistant director on Six Degrees of Separation in London and Barcelona production, under Geoffrey Colman (Head of Acting at RCSSD).

I'm a wooden boatbuilder, who specialises in building lightweight, skin-on-frame boats and runs kayak & canoe-building courses. Designing and making simple, beautiful and usable boats gives me huge satisfaction. At school and university I always had access to workshops. I grew up kayaking in Devon, then much further afield (Nepal, British Columbia, The Alps...). They were the things I enjoyed the most. But after graduating with an MA from the Royal College of Art, I didn’t set foot in a workshop for over a decade. I worked in a digital world, designing good experiences for people on the web. I set up my own company and taught design at university. At weekends and in the evenings, I did up a couple of VW vans, and worked on our family home. When a friend died from cancer I knew life was too short, and I had to get back in the workshop and on the water. Looking to weave together a life-long love of kayaking, design and craftsmanship, I moved to Lyme Regis and enrolled to train at The Boat Building Academy. When I returned to Bristol in 2015, the Underfall Yard had just re-opened some of their historic workshops with Lottery Funding and I took on a unit. It’s now a place to make boats that I can be proud of, that people use and that will last. It’s a satisfying reward when I help people build a boat and they say “I made that!” Whether you build a boat, or I build it for you, it would be my pleasure to help you climb aboard your very own Shipshape boat.

A fun and physical approach to storytelling where you will discover how to turn personal stories into short performances. This online workshop gives you basic tools to tell stories in imaginative ways. What stories blow you away? What is CCPE? CCPE is a well-established, charitable organisation providing counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families through a strong, diverse community of over 100 counsellors and psychotherapists practising at the centre. CCPE also runs a range of accredited professional counselling and psychotherapy training programmes with a transpersonal and integrative orientation. including Fundamental Skills, Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (leading to accreditation as a psychotherapist) and two MA courses (child, adolescent and family therapy and a research masters both validated by The University of Northampton). There are also post-graduate trainings in dreamwork, couple counselling and supervision. In addition there is always a rich variety of continuing professional development on offer. CCPE Staff 100 counsellors and psychotherapists work at the CCPE, with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The Building Beauchamp Lodge is CCPE's home and the place where a rich variety of people come to work and meet. It is a seven storey Regency building situated on the bank of the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice. The building has been used for a variety of purposes since its construction in 1853 and has had some illustrious residents including the writer Katherine Mansfield, and Napoleon III. In the last century it has mainly been used for charitable purposes.

Dorothy is a trained voice coach in Brighton, East Sussex. She is also a voice coach in London and provides voice and singing training across Europe. Dorothy has an MA in Voice Studies from Central School of Speech and Drama and fifteen years experience as a voice teacher and Voice Movement Therapist. She works with groups and takes individual sessions. She is Currently Head Of Voice at BRICCT in Brighton. She has worked as a voice teacher for the past seven years at Italia Conti Drama college London. A voice teacher at ACT, Academy of Creative Training, Brighton until 2018 and Voice and presentation lecturer at The American Intercontinental University / Regents University London. Her teaching has been informed and inspired by her own Voice teachers: Katarina Moraitis (Head of Voice, CSSD), Christine Linklater, Frankie Armstrong, Jan Haydon Rolls, Barbara Houseman and Cicely Berry (Head of Voice at the RSC).
