Upgraded Tutoring

West Sussex,

When Bob Gormley, our Head Tutor, was working on a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Cornell University, he needed access to a medieval manuscript in the Cambridge University Library. Since Cornell wanted him to stay in New York to teach their undergraduates, Bob was ironically forced to go on leave from his Ph.D. in an attempt to finish the degree. An American rather than a British citizen at the time, Bob had to start a business to support himself so that he could live in the UK. So, in 2005, Bob built on previous test prep teaching experience he'd had in New York to start S.T. Logic, which quickly became the most popular tutoring company in London for American standardized test prep. As a result, Bob never finished the Ph.D. dissertation, even though he wrote about 800 pages of it...in Latin. In addition to the Master's degree he earned at Cornell, he does have two more Master's degrees (with distinction from Columbia University and London Business School) to go along with his quadruple major summa cum laude -- four majors with highest honors -- from his undergrad at Wheaton College, a small liberal arts college in the US. In 2022, the company changed its name to UpGraded Tutoring and continues to offer the outstanding tuition for which S.T. Logic was known. We offer lessons for the ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and school work for the American, British, and International Baccalaureate curricula. Thousands of students around the world have benefitted from our patient, effective teaching methods and materials.

Northern Ireland Commission For Catholic Education

Antrim,

Welcome to this website of the Northern Ireland Commission for Catholic Education which will act as a hub of information for Catholic education within Northern Ireland. As well as providing links to the schools within the Catholic Managed Sector in N.I. it will also link to other education partners. In addition, it will provide those interested in Catholic education with resources, guidance and policies to assist them in their work. It will also be a place of celebration for Catholic education and include examples of the Catholic ethos alive in our schools. Across Northern Ireland there are 489 Catholic schools serving the needs of 45.5% of the school population. Our schools, working with the parents as the primary educators of their children, strive to ensure that children and young people discover their uniqueness as individuals and develop their gifts and talents as full members of a faith community. Northern Ireland has experienced conflict. But our schools are not some sort of quaint relic from a divided past. They have shown themselves to be active contributors to reconciliation and the Common Good. Our schools are open and welcoming to children and young people of all nationalities and of all faiths and to those who have no religious affiliation. Within our schools we promote a belief that difference is to be understood and celebrated as a source of enrichment. This mission is undertaken by Governors, school leaders and staff who are dedicated and committed to supporting the children and young people in their care and the communities in which they are located.

Ashdown Education

London

On behalf of the Ashdown Elementary School (AES) staff, I am happy to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. AES is a kindergarten through fifth-grade campus. With this change, there will be a lot of familiar faces, as well as some new ones. One thing that did not change is the hard work that our staff will put in to provide our students with a safe learning environment where our students will be successful! One of the greatest resources at AES is the parents/guardians of our students. Communication is the key factor in building the bond between the school and parents/guardians. To keep informed you can follow us on our Facebook page (AES Facebook), District Facebook page (Ashdown Facebook), and the AES page on the district website (AES Website). Most importantly, register to receive messages through Remind from your child’s teacher. At AES, the staff works diligently to see all students succeed. Each day, students will be given opportunities to demonstrate their strengths through activities that are both engaging and challenging. Teachers will give guided instruction as students complete these activities to ensure their success. I know that with the many changes and adjustments we had to do during the last school year, there will still be adjustments to our schedules and activities this year. We plan to make every effort to keep our parents notified as changes are made. My focus is on your child’s safety as we move forward while following district, state, and federal guidelines.
