Susie is extremely intuitive and sensitive to the work needed with each client she works with. As a highly evolved soul, Susie has spent many years studying various therapies and treatments working on herself. Taking the viewpoint that in becoming the best at what she can be, first she must clear, heal, release old energies/beliefs from herself – using many styles of reiki, theta healing, sound healing, past life regression, future life and lives between lives…….all playing a huge part in allowing the release of personal fears, abandonment and self judgement. Lighthouse Medical is pleased to sponsor Lighthouse Educational Foundation. The charity’s aim is to provide funding for all types of Primary Care education and ultimately improve healthcare for the Island’s population. They work proactively to fund and organise education/courses that fill the gaps identified by structured training needs analysis. The charity was founded in 2010 and has already helped 1,857 Islanders to further their education, with general and specific training courses. From 2011-2018, the Foundation invested £184,794 in our local healthcare workers. This included supporting local GPs, GPwSIs, Practice Nurses, reception and admin staff. Courses funded so far have ranged from half-day sessions to Masters courses. The charity has supported staff in clinical and non-clinical roles and can help when other funding is limited or not available. The aim has always been to organise courses here on the Isle of Wight, reducing travel time, increasing the ability to attend, and enabling the charity to keep costs down. Much of the funding is donated by Lighthouse Medical, a healthcare organisation that is committed to re-investing in the Island’s Primary Care services. The belief is that by helping to meet education/training needs, Isle of Wight Primary healthcare staff will remain keen, enthusiastic, and able to provide the first-class healthcare services that patients across the Island deserve. This will also help to maintain a sustainable improvement in the Isle of Wight’s health services.

I am a caring and patient qualified Primary Teacher with over 7 years classroom experience. I have worked with a wide range of students including those with special educational needs. I have been tutoring since 2018 originally both Face to Face and Online, but since March 2020 I now offer online tuition only which I have found to be most effective for students of all ages. I offer bespoke lessons, always tailoring the level of work covered to the individual student’s needs and interests. To develop both their self-confidence and attainment levels. I’ve worked for more than 30 years delivering and managing services in the public sector to support disabled people. In 1997 I moved into higher education becoming the manager of the disability service at the University of the West of England in Bristol. After UWE, I was the manager of an educational development project in Manchester before two roles in national coordination teams. As part of the National Disability Team I oversaw £2.1m of HEFCE funding across 23 projects in a range of HEIs in England. The projects were funded to set up disability provision from scratch within small specialist institutions and to develop a range of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment resources for the sector. I was then senior policy adviser at Action on Access, the national coordination team for widening participation. I’ve worked in a consultancy capacity and been a member of policy groups for a range of projects and organisations including, the Institute of Physics, the Higher Education Academy, the General Teaching Council for England, the Quality Assurance Agency, and a number of universities including York, Durham, Huddersfield, Middlesex and Cardiff Metropolitan. I was a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Disability Practitioners for a number of years and I’m now the CEO of the International Network of Inclusive Practice. I recently worked as a visiting lecturer at the Education University, Hong Kong and currently work as a lecturer at London South Bank University.

The British accessories brand was founded by best friends and ex-fashion buyers Jemma and Lesa, who met on their first day at the London College of Fashion. They bonded over a love of design, a passion to start their own business and a mutual struggle to find a watch that they wanted to wear. Lovers of vintage, the pair would trawl through antique markets to find timepieces, but, whilst beautiful, the cogs would often stop and start. After graduation, the girls went on to pursue successful careers in fashion buying, clocking up time at diverse fashion brands such as Topshop, ASOS and Selfridges. All the while, the idea of going it alone was gathering momentum until the day in 2011 when Jemma and Lesa made the leap, quit their jobs and set about creating their own beautiful, unique watches from the kitchen table. Named after Lesa’s great aunt whose spirited approach and energy was a huge inspiration to the girls, Olivia Burton debuted its first collection in September 2012. Its covetable, collectable styles, which now include a striking jewellery line-up, are inspired by vintage finds and the latest catwalk trends. Designs are brought to life at the brand’s pretty East London studio, where Jemma and Lesa work closely with their small team to ensure every piece is tweaked to perfection.
