Hi I’m Helen! I am a fully qualified dance teacher with the International Dance Teachers’ Association running dance and dance- inspired fitness classes in Sheffield. Awards ‘Dance Fitness Instructor of the Year 2019 – South Yorkshire’ – August 2019 – Northern Enterprise Awards ‘Best Dance Fitness Instructor 2018 – South Yorkshire’ – August 2018 – Yorkshire and the Humber Enterprise Awards. Why do you teach? I have been teaching dance since I was 17. There is nothing more rewarding than helping my students realise their potential. I’ve always been so passionate about dancing and its benefits so in 2014 I decided to branch out into teaching dance-inspired fitness classes for adults. Since then I have discovered a real passion for encouraging people to get into exercise through the use of fun, dance based workout routines. I love helping my class members achieve their goals. The Dance Fit with Helen mission! Through dance, exercising can be fun and it should be fun otherwise you won’t want to do it! My mission is to break down this barrier of women feeling too self-conscious to go to an exercise class because of low body confidence and self-esteem. I like to challenge the view of fitness classes being places only fit, slim, twenty-somethings can attend! What classes are on offer? Paper artist Susan Beech creates beautifully delicate crepe paper flowers and botanicals from her home in Hove, UK. She founded her studio A Petal Unfolds in 2016. Each flower and botanical piece is unique, with every petal cut from the finest crepe papers and intricately shaped by hand. Ink, pastel and paint is often used to create a soft gradation of colour. Photo by Polly Hanrahan Susan works by studying real botanical specimens where possible, which helps her to create the finest of details. She also takes inspiration from photographs and botanical publications in order to create a realistic piece. Her fine artistry has led to commercial projects with the Financial Times and Liberty London amongst others. Susan also teaches paper flower workshops both within the UK and internationally, as well as her popular online classes. Just Another Label (JAL) primarily works with production music and over nineteen years has focussed on supplying electronic, urban and pop music to many established Production Music Libraries. JAL entered into the music industry in 1992 and has since been involved in many ventures across the industry as a recording company, commercial publisher, production music library and third party administrator. From 1992, through JAL and many other labels, the company released a multitude of records on vinyl, CD and digital formats, enjoying great acclaim in the underground UK dance music scene. We proudly received an Ivor Novello in 2003 for "Best Original Music For Television" for the Channel 4 production Feltham Sings From 2005, JAL slowed down their release of records and progressed into the production music industry. They have since supplied mainly electronic music to the production music libraries of companies including Extreme Music, Warner Bros, Universal and EMI. JAL has always had a keen interest in the community and has spent time volunteering to deliver music-related projects to young people alongside youth-groups and various local councils. JAL has also delivered musical and music industry themed workshops with tutors at further education colleges in addressing subjects including diversity, equal opportunities, prejudice and discrimination. We are currently expanding into multi-media productions to offer comprehensive services in the audio/visual industry.
