My name is Anna Robinson and I am the Executive Headteacher and Chief Executive Officer of MARK Education Trust. Our trust was established in 2012, and for the last 10 years has been a trust of one school, Beacon Academy in Crowborough. From September 2022, we are delighted to have welcomed Uplands Academy into our trust as our second school. I was the Headteacher of Beacon Academy from September 2015 – August 2022 prior to becoming the Executive Headteacher from September 2022, overseeing both of our schools. To support Uplands during their first year as an Academy and member of our trust, for this academic year, I will also be the named Headteacher of Uplands Academy. In addition, my colleague, David Callard, with an excellent and sustained track record of senior leadership at Beacon Academy, will also be joining me as our Senior Deputy Headteacher. In addition to bringing additional leadership capacity and experience of school improvement, we are looking forward to working with the well-known and established Uplands senior team, its staff and most importantly our inspiring and incredibly capable students. I’m a foodie through and through! I like to eat! I like to cook! Variety is the spice of life, and we shouldn’t get stuck in a rut when we cook. Cooking is a creative process and should be one of life’s great pleasures. I am a big fan of the local Ayrshire seasonal produce, and recently demonstrated dishes at the Ballantrae Festival of Food and Drink 2020 and Newmilns Food Festival, 2017. I am lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world. Maybole is sandwiched between Culzean Castle and Country Park and Alloway where Robert Burns was born. The area is steeped in history and an abundance of local artisan produce. Farm shops sell Ayrshire meat, cheese, vegetables and all manner of other products. Of course, the coast is close by too with a fantastic array of seafood. With all of this on my doorstep, its not hard to be inspired. I believe it is important that we can all cook at least a few great dishes from scratch. Unfortunately, so many people don’t have the skills or confidence in the kitchen. Many people are short of time, and for some, cooking skills simply haven’t been passed down to them. There is an increasing awareness of the health benefits of eating nutritious home cooked meals. Furthermore, I think its very important that people eat together, in order to socialise and share time. BACKGROUND Prior to Home Cook School, I worked as a Lecturer within the Creative Industries Department at a local Further Education College. My role involved working with various student groups – both advanced and non-advanced, community groups and school classes. I love teaching people and seeing them develop knowledge, skills and confidence! Since I was very young, I have been a keen cook. I have travelled extensively, and learned from many different international cuisine styles. My husband and I love to eat out and plan our holidays around breakfast, lunch and dinner! I have attended many cook school classes including Tuscan and Croatian styles. I am a strong advocate of reducing food waste by shopping thriftily, planning and using leftovers and often integrate these principles into my lessons. For years, many friends and family would ask me to share my recipes and cooking tips – this combined with my years of teaching experience, consequently gave me the idea to launch Home Cook School. For a long time, I was keen to become self-employed however, due to work and family commitments, I was never able to fully devote myself to the concept. In 2014 I gave up my Lecturing job (after 12 years) to focus on bringing up my young family. The following year I moved to Maybole, South Ayrshire and finally had a kitchen big enough to run classes from! In 2016, I decided to launch Home Cook School. I feel passionate about sharing my love and knowledge of home cooking with anyone who is keen to realise their ambition to become a better home cook! Heatherwood's Equestrian Academy is available for private & small group lessons or you may join us for one of our week-long summer day camps. The Academy teaches safety around horses, horse anatomy, proper grooming, feeding and housing, equipment use and learning to "tack up" a horse. Riding covers proper seat, leg and hand position as well as learning to walk, trot and canter using correct diagonals, leads and gait. Each rider will be assessed to determine the pace at which they will advance to the next level. Hello, my name is Leila. I am a Female, fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and operate an Independent Driving School. I am fully CRB Checked I pride myself in my professional driving tuition Lessons are fun, relaxed & professional I provide Semi Intensive and Midway Courses as well as individual driving lessons and Pass Plus. I can normally cover Warmley, Kingswood, Mangotsfield, St George, Stockwood, Brislington, St Annes, Fishponds, Staple Hill, Emersons Green, Knowle, Keynsham, Whitchurch and surrounding areas. Having been a Driving Instructor for a few years now, I can honestly say I start work every day looking forward to going to work knowing my job gives me 100% job satisfaction. Having been trained by LDC (Learner Driving Centre), using their ever-popular LD System, I have been trained in the latest adult coaching and training techniques so you can be assured the training I give you will be of the highest standard. Another reason why I chose to train with LDC is because their ethos was the same as mine and that because every student is different means I allow for flexibility in their learning, coaching rather than instructing to allow the you to learn safely at a pace that suits your needs. It is my aim to make lessons both enjoyable and well as productive. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly manner. I firmly believe in making pupils feel relaxed and at ease during lessons. Hopefully be creating the right environment my passion for coaching driving will transfer to you being passionate about learning to drive. I am now an Independent Driving Instructor but still follow the same coaching and training techniques I was taught by LDC but have adapted my own style of calm, patient, adaptable teaching to suit each individual pupil, giving them a tailored learning journey suitable for them. I have always lived in and around the Bristol area, and previous driving jobs has given me a vast knowledge of the Bristol roads. This will help me to choose the best roads to maximize your learning. I enjoy driving, teaching and I am passionate about Road Safety. So being a Driving Instructor is an ideal career for me. I have 3 sons whom, although I adore, has provided me with the best training possible for keeping calm in any situation.
