Perth,

Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust (PKHT) is a registered Scottish Charity that has been established since 1988. Our Vision A Perth and Kinross that values, embraces and enhances the economic, social and environmental benefits of its historic environment We realise this vision through the development and delivery of projects, the administration of grants, the provision of information and advice, and a programme of outreach, learning and training activities. Working independently and collaboratively to preserve, enhance and increase understanding of Perth and Kinross’s historic environment Since 1988 the Trust has been achieving a wide remit encompassing historic building conservation, archaeology, access to the historic environment and interpretation. Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund Transition funding, the Trust began an organisational review in 2016 which culminated in our 2017-22 strategic plan. This document sets out our vision, values and priorities and has recently been updated with a Covid-19 response statement for 2021-22 and a further strategic plan for the 2023-2027 period. Our emphasis has always been, and continues to be, on a high quality approach, bringing economic, social and educational benefit while securing a future for Perth and Kinross’s historic environment. We realise our vision, mission and objectives through the development and delivery of projects, the administration of grants, the provision of information and advice, and a programme of outreach, learning and training activities. Conserving our shared cultural heritage is important for many reasons: maintaining ‘sense of place’, providing a resource for learning and education for local communities, and as a driver for sustainable economic development through events and destinations for visitors and tourists. We believe the rich physical heritage of Perth and Kinross, in the form of archaeological remains and historic buildings and landscapes, should be enjoyed by everyone, and we aim to facilitate this through our projects and outreach events. We are committed to developing and delivering activities and projects that increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of the historic environment. Supported by a range of funders, our outreach, learning and participation activities are often delivered as a core part of larger funded projects such as the King’s Seat Hillfort Archaeology Project. Outside of these projects, we also co-ordinate annual feature event programmes such as Doors Open Days. Please explore our website to find out more about what we do and why we do it. PKHT is a Scottish Charity (SC003139) and a company, limited by guarantee. View a copy our Memorandum and Articles of Association to find out more about our objects and governance.

Making music is inherently human: it connects us, has the ability to improve our lives and brings people together. It also helps people to grow in self-esteem, build essential skills and lead bright futures. It’s the reason we exist: to help the young people, schools and communities of Calderdale to have access to – and benefit from – life-enhancing music and arts opportunities. Calderdale Music Trust was established in May 2015 having previously been part of the local authority when it was known as Calderdale Music Service. In 2019, we took an important step forward in our transformational journey. We made changes to our structure and the way we operate, including the appointment of a new leadership team who share a passion and vision for making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Marking a new chapter, we have invested in our stunning new flagship HQ in Halifax, that will make it easier to bring people together, providing a community base for live performances, private lessons, a place to gather, and much more. We also listened to feedback from our schools, parents and our team resulting in our new name and brand identity: Calderdale Music. There’s no final destination; we see this as an ongoing journey to keep doing better and providing better services, which we’ll do by listening to the needs of our learners, their guardians, schools and hub partners. Our ambition is to create an inclusive, forward-looking service that puts people and their unique musical learning adventures at the heart of everything we do. We currently work with thousands of children, young people and adults, and this figure continues to rise year on year. We take pride in our professional development (CPD) offering to schools and our flexible, bespoke approach to teaching, working around the curriculum to make music a fun and pleasurable experience for young people. Our music leaders are among the best in the sector. We offer much more than just music education, we provide support, performance opportunities and a community for learners from all backgrounds to come together socially and share a passion – or just try out something different. Although steeped in musical history, and without doubt some of the finest brass bands in the world, we believe Calderdale can do more to reflect and celebrate its musical and cultural diversity. So as the lead organisation for Calderdale Music Hub, we’re working with local schools, cultural organisations and community groups to bring exciting opportunities and live performances to the doorsteps of Calderdale. We’re here to shine a spotlight on the amazing talent, diversity and prospects our region has to offer. Our vision for the future is to open life-long music and arts education opportunities to all, providing a cultural heart for Calderdale that unites, motivates and inspires people to live more creative lives.

We noticed there was a disregard to how people were being taught to deal with their everyday job roles. They were mainly being taught ‘out of a book’ by trainers who did not actually have real life experience. This got us to thinking about other training courses that were also being taught in this way. After thorough research, we gradually began to add further training courses for businesses that needed practical training solutions for their employees – e.g. for first aid, safety and technical elements, and so their organisation would be fully regulated and compliant. Our vision is and will always be to ensure that all of our clients have access to the most relevant training courses and practical, solution-based assessment, consultancy and training development services – whenever and wherever they need it. We fully understand the importance of treating each client as an individual, which is why we consistently respond to delegates individual needs and requirements. Our team of carefully chosen experts have a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience in their chosen training field, and they work closely with our clients to enable them to achieve their goals within their required timescales. We all take great pride in passing our knowledge and enthusiasm onto our course delegates. We believe that by doing this we will become the provider of choice by providing practical based training not on offer anywhere else. By achieving this we will build a sustainable and respected business, which will help businesses become better at what they do. At Oakley Training & Consultancy, it is our belief everybody should have access to the right training and equipment so that they can cope with any medical emergencies and carry out their role at work safely and efficiently.
