I found the whole organisation, content and quality to be exceptionally high. The coursework was challenging (especially balancing with a demanding full time job!) but provided great insight to enable me to take the next steps in my career. The tutors were also very helpful indeed. CMC Professional Services Alumnus The students and teachers of the CIPR qualifications at Cambridge Marketing College are to be congratulated. A 100% pass rate is a real achievement and testament to everyone’s hard work and the quality of the teaching and students. Congratulations once again from all at the CIPR. Elisabeth Lewis-Jones Then CIPR President, CIPR Thank you for a very informative and useful day. Kelly Barford Marketing Communications Team Leader , LGC Group I just want to take this opportunity to thank you again for your guidance throughout this module - I was initially overwhelmed but the combination of real life examples, discussion and application of theory has made everything much clearer and very interesting! Your advice has much been appreciated. Imogen Varma Professional Diploma, Student The advanced certificate has given me a fantastic grounding in PR. It is really important to understand the theory and history behind PR practice whilst in the early stages of your career, and the Advanced Certificate was the perfect vehicle to do so. The level of support received from my tutor and course leader was exceptional and it has been a truly rewarding experience that will no doubt benefit me in the future.

Inclusion In He

I’ve worked for more than 30 years delivering and managing services in the public sector to support disabled people. In 1997 I moved into higher education becoming the manager of the disability service at the University of the West of England in Bristol. After UWE, I was the manager of an educational development project in Manchester before two roles in national coordination teams. As part of the National Disability Team I oversaw £2.1m of HEFCE funding across 23 projects in a range of HEIs in England. The projects were funded to set up disability provision from scratch within small specialist institutions and to develop a range of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment resources for the sector. I was then senior policy adviser at Action on Access, the national coordination team for widening participation. I’ve worked in a consultancy capacity and been a member of policy groups for a range of projects and organisations including, the Institute of Physics, the Higher Education Academy, the General Teaching Council for England, the Quality Assurance Agency, and a number of universities including York, Durham, Huddersfield, Middlesex and Cardiff Metropolitan. I was a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Disability Practitioners for a number of years and I’m now the CEO of the International Network of Inclusive Practice. I recently worked as a visiting lecturer at the Education University, Hong Kong and currently work as a lecturer at London South Bank University.

Every child deserves the chance to have a rich and fulfilling future full of choice and excitement. Often, anxieties make even the most simple things difficult. From not attending school, to not being able to leave the house: all result in a situation where children feel they cannot cope and function. They are overwhelmed and ,despite help and support, feel that they cannot move forwards. School, college and a career becomes a distant, impossible dream for both parent and child, and the focus of each day is to just 'get through it'. For a parent it's devastating to watch your child, who should be smiling, under the bedcovers shaking. This is reality. If you are reading this and it resonates, we can help. Fast Progress Tuition (FPT) is a specialist unregistered Alternative Provision for children who suffer from Emotionally-Based School Absence (EBSA). We build confidence, self-esteem and resilience in a controlled educational setting meaning that secondary complications of EBSA are prevented: education is not compromised and our students are able to take huge steps forward in both social and academic environments. Every child who attends FPT has a different academic pathway and social goals, all of which are developed in parallel with each other, resulting in a child who is active, confident and feels like they can achieve in different environments. FPT are on the Alternative Provision Directory for both Essex County Council and Southend Council.

Inclusion Expert

London

Inclusion Expert’s founder, Daniel Sobel, is an internationally respected leader in inclusive education and has advised the DfE, the EU and governments abroad. Daniel is a well-known speaker, writes regularly for publications including Headteacher Update and The Guardian, and is the author of several books including Narrowing the Attainment Gap. Daniel left school with no A Levels and read his first book aged 18. Gradually he fell in love with study and managed to secure a place on a Master’s course in Education Psychology. He went on to take four graduate courses in Psychology and Education, eventually running out of money in the middle of doctoral training. Daniel moved to full time teaching and quickly became a SENCO. Dismayed by how much of the job was pointless meetings and paperwork, he started designing tools to better support his students. During a stint as Assistant Head he continued to develop simple systems to help teachers manage information and maximise the impact of their interventions. Realising that many teachers were struggling with inclusion, that his ideas really worked, and that there was an opportunity to make a difference to children across the country, Daniel left teaching, somewhat hesitantly, to form Inclusion Expert. Over the last few years the company has grown rapidly to encompass a team of experienced practitioners who share Daniel’s vision that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential, regardless of needs, background or ability.
