Clean Break uses theatre to keep the subject of women in prison on the cultural radar, helping to reveal the damage caused by the criminal justice system. Through our unique work, we raise difficult questions, inspire debate, and help to effect profound and positive change in the lives of women with experience of the criminal justice system. Since 1979, Clean Break has been the only women’s theatre company of its kind, and we continue to inspire playwrights and captivate audiences with our ground-breaking plays on the complex theme of women and criminalisation. Through theatre workshops and projects in prisons and in the community which build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, we transform the lives of women who have experienced the criminal justice system or who are at risk of entering it due to the challenges they are facing, such as mental health or drug use issues, which place them in circumstances that make interaction with the criminal justice system difficult to avoid. Our Members Programme is available to women aged 18 and above. The Programme offers a range of workshops and performance opportunities led by esteemed female theatre artists, underpinned by comprehensive support. Clean Break’s women-only identity is crucial to our rationale. The treatment of women by the criminal justice system is one of the clearest demonstrations that our society is still unequal and that women are judged by different standards to men. Our vision is of a society where women can realise their full potential, free from criminalisation, and we believe that theatre enables women to challenge their oppression by society in general and by the criminal justice system in particular.

If you’ve yet to met her…then what are you waiting for? There is always cake on standby. Always one for the non-traditional approach Michelle began her career as an apprentice Gas Service Engineer in the early 90's and was quickly identified as one to watch. Moving swiftly through the ranks she swapped her gas van for a BMW and began the challenge of management in a large organisation. Fast forward a few years & the first incarnation of the company, MerseySTEM was born out of the need to take action to provide a translation and engagement service between industry & education that is honest, effective & innovative. As the reputation and geography of 'her patch' grew All About STEM became the natural successor and the new name and vision was launched in 2016. Merseyside and beyond!! Businesses need to attract new talent in a fast paced technological world and schools need to equip our young people for the future at the same pace. But, critically, both are often inundated with information whilst facing their own sectors’ evolving challenges.

Rewilders was born out of a love for people, and a passion for helping to make the world a better place. After university, I embarked on a marketing and management career that gave me the opportunity to work at amazing companies like Marks & Spencer, Mars Chocolate and Wheyhey!. There I learnt that businesses are fundamentally about people, and that the time and effort you invest into bringing out the best in those people, can be the biggest factor in determining your success. My career also taught me that businesses are not just there to make money. Businesses with a vision, with a greater purpose for existing than simply generating profit can be extremely powerful vehicles for change, and these are the companies people want to work for. We all want to make a difference, to feel that our work is doing good, and to go home at the end of the day knowing that we’ve had a positive impact. So when I decided to leave my ‘good, sensible career’ behind, and start running my own business, I new these were the kind of companies I wanted to help - those who were intentional about doing good. So I went and did additional training in coaching and NLP at the Coaching Academy, and then started Rewilders - a coaching and consultancy business bringing business and professional development support to the leaders and teams of purpose-led organisations. My mission is a simple one… to help you bring your best to work that makes a difference, so that good companies win, and the world becomes a better place.
