Fashion! Skills! Knowledge! Trips! Talks! Students will be given a comprehensive view of the fashion industry through exclusive trips, tours, talks from industry experts and masterclasses. Why not book an optional afternoon tea at The Ivy to make this an even more memorable experience? Through a combination of years of experience and listening to our student’s feedback, we've extended our course to include more highlights and opportunities for our 12-18-year-old students to get to know their fashion family. In addition, there's a larger focus on experimental design and pattern cutting whilst building their fabric knowledge. This programme is non-residential. This course is inclusive of male and gender-neutral designs. You will learn how to: • Assume the role of the designer and develop your own ideas into a design • Complete a fashion brief written by a design house. • Work with Ex LFW designer fabrics • Create mood boards and learn why designers use them • Pattern cut, sew and construct your own garment • Take your first steps into the fashion industry You’ll attend: • Talks from guest speakers within the industry • Industry professionals and careers talk • Tour around Jimmy Choo Academy including portfolio talk and insight into their programme • Sustainable fashion factory visit • Trips to museums/galleries Whilst learning valuable skills such as: • Communication • Fashion design • Fabric knowledge • Embellishment • Accuracy • Machine and hand sewing You will leave with: • Design development sheets • Your own mood boards • An outfit designed and made by yourself • A digital certificate of completion Level: Beginner Friendly INSTRUCTIONS • Students must arrive with packed lunches, snacks and a re-usable bottle of water each. • All materials and sewing equipment are provided for this workshop.

At Dakoda’s Dance Academy, we offer contemporary/lyrical dance classes for children of all ages and skill levels. Our experienced instructors provide a variety of activities that explore different movement styles, helping your child learn improvisation skills and incorporate storytelling into their routines. Our contemporary/lyrical classes are designed to be both fun and challenging, giving your child the opportunity to express themselves through dance while also developing their technique. Usually once a month, the 2024 dates are:- 2024 Saturday Classes: * May 11th * June 8th * July 6th & 27th * Sept. 7th * Oct. 12th * Nov. 9th * Dec. 7th * Notes on 2-Person Classes Both the Tuesday 8.05pm class in Euston, and the Saturday courses in Westminster will focus on:  Learning how to relax  The use of the movements in Tai Chi Form (applications)  Applying the movements so that you maintain your own integrity (centre of balance)  Finding & working from the centre/core/Dantian  Developing the sense of ‘feel’ when working with someone else  Connecting your centre to your hands  Turning a partner’s energy around so as to unbalance him/her  We will also work on a 2-Person Tai Chi Form in order to understand applications of moves Posture, Balance, and Intention. By far the most important part of these classes is developing the ability to sense and be aware not only of one's own posture, balance, and intention, but also that of another person. Relaxation. Many of the exercises are ultimately about the ability to act from a very relaxed body and mind, so that (for example) if someone pushes towards you, you don't 'lock up' (the instinctive reaction), but instead you sense the push, and divert it. Initially it is this 'locking up' (which in effect makes you unable to move), that we are working on undoing. This is about getting more control of your sympathetic nervous system (fight & flight), the 'stress' system, so that in difficult situations, you 'roll with the punches' better.
