Thank you for visiting our website. This page is to help you understand a little more about our background and ethics. As the Managing Director & Lead Trainer of 1st ACT Ltd, my role is to co-ordinate the training, the syllabuses, the trainers and the venues to make your experience the best it can be. We've made changes over the last 10 years, all based on client feedback. My personal First Aid background goes back to 1990, when I joined the British Army and was being trained and fully prepared to serve in the golf war. First Aid is obviously a priority for all our military personnel, but when you feel it could be needed soon, it definitely makes you sit up and listen. At least it did with me, so much so that I wanted to know more and more about the amazing human body. After leaving the forces it appeared to me, to be a natural progression to enter into the Emergency Services, so after a few years with Wiltshire Fire Brigade I moved onto London Fire Brigade in 2000. With our First Aid knowledge and some with training backgrounds, my colleagues and I were asked to assess and then train First Aid for a few large companies based around the South East of England. I setup and established 1st ACT in April 2007 (becoming a Limited Company in April 2015) with the aim of making life saving skills affordable to all without dropping any of the high standards often found in larger organisations. With 1st ACT Ltd you still get the same wealth of experience and high level of training but at prices our competitors simply cannot come close to on Ofqual regulated courses!

Lin Kam Art was founded by Linett Kamala. She is a graduate of the University of Arts London and has over 30 years of experience delivering high quality events, residency and programmes in a variety of settings, such as community art workshops, international art trips and art consultancy. All this equates to reaching thousands of people! We are also developing the next generation of leaders through the Lin Kam Art Sound System Futures Programme which provides a pathway into events such as the iconic Notting Hill Carnival. All of our facilitators and artists have completed an enhanced DBS and the latest Safeguarding training. Lin Kam Art also delivers Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) Training to those involved in the festival industry. abc paramedic services and first aid training

ABC Paramedic Services was set up by our Training and Event Manager, Craig Gray. Craig spent fifteen years working in front line Emergency Services within the Scottish Ambulance Service in Edinburgh. The final six years of this was spent as a First Response Paramedic on a Rapid Response Vehicle dealing predominately with Class A / Red (i.e. potentially life threatening) emergencies. In 2011 Craig became the first Paramedic in the history of the Scottish Ambulance Service to be awarded ‘The Chief Executive’s Special Award’ for displaying the highest levels of commitment and professionalism in his job. Craig’s considerable knowledge and expertise extends to the private sector including delivering First Aid Training to Healthcare Professionals, courses at the Royal College of Surgeons, and providing Medical Cover at events such as ‘T in the Park’, ‘The Edinburgh Tattoo’ and the ‘Queen’s Garden Party’. In 2012, Craig provided Paramedic level cover as Chief Medical Officer at the ‘Urdd National Eisteddfod’ festival in Wales with over 100,000 spectators in attendance. Craig has also employed his medical skills for charitable causes, running a medical clinic in a remote part of North East India as well as being involved in a pioneering ‘out of hospital Cardiac Arrest’ study aimed at improving CPR skills. Craig takes a very personal, hands-on approach to the business and is actively involved in the strategic developments of all training, events, and projects.

Launchpad is a day service which offers adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to develop employment, social and independent living skills within a safe and supported environment. It was set up in August 2017 and currently supports over 20 adults in both catering and horticulture. Trainees are encouraged to set their own goals, and are supported by staff and volunteers in the achievement of those goals. Progress and achievement are recorded in interactive 'CVs' made up of written material, photos and videos. If a trainee wishes to progress into employment, the Launchpad team will support them in every way possible, including liaising with potential employers, help to apply for a job, prepare for and attend an interview and support in starting work.

Helen’s aim is to inspire primary schools to achieve outstanding results for the children and not just for the purpose of inspection. All of our training provides current best practice combined with practical Ofsted support, if appropriate and aims to help schools raise attainment and improve the quality of teaching and learning. Helen was a successful teacher and Head teacher and has over 22 years experience in a range of primary schools. Her leadership was graded as outstanding by Ofsted, however she does not want her legacy to be Ofsted words on a page, as this does not tell you anything about the exceptional care and nurture she gave to children and families, in the most challenging of circumstances, throughout her career. Helen knows how intense and difficult school leadership can be and never claims to be perfect or an expert ‘super head’; she made mistakes, had amazing days, but also very difficult challenging days.

KCA was formed it 2002 by a group of local parents. It was formed to support local children and young people whose needs were not being recognised and there was an absence of understanding and suitable provision. Since these beginnings KCA has grown rapidly and has become influential and respected among both statutory and voluntary agencies and most importantly the families who access our services.
