Agape Wellbeing is a registered charitable organisation dedicated to helping the local community, from the very young to our older people, achieve positive wellbeing, through a variety of health and wellbeing services and activities. What We Offer We offer a flexible approach to promoting positive wellbeing as we understand that lots of factors can get in the way of committing to a fixed programme. This is why we have set up a lot of our activities to allow people to opt in when they are able, allowing people the freedom to join in when time, health and other commitments allow. We have a range of activities for all ages to enjoy with many activities being able to be carried out either within a group setting to allow you to meet others, or by offering a quiet area where people can use if they would rather work on their own. We even offer a space just to come in to have tea or coffee which is situated right next to our small pre-school play area, allowing parents to enjoy a refreshment whilst their children have fun. This number does not include former members of our Blue light services or people who are currently still serving, Op Spartan realises we a stronger together. There are a lot of charities and support organisations out there and they are doing an incredible job. However, generally they are all restricted by their resources, namely funding and manpower. By becoming the one stop support tech platform that can be accessed 24/7 Op Spartan is able to signpost our members to specialist help as well as enhancing the reach of these organisations. We also aim to support our members way upstream before critical intervention and support is needed relieving some of the workload on charities and supporting bodies. Whether its raising funds for honest, worthwhile causes, helping individuals on their own personal journeys who need to make changes to the course they are on. Or maybe manpower to help with a task or something smaller like meeting up for a coffee and a chat. The key to all of our support is to not focus on the problem, but focus on the solution. Like we have all done countless times before, we move forward together, on the front foot. We focus only on Mission success!

I was born in Ohio and grew up in a small farming village before qualifying as a teacher and moving to England in 2003. After getting married, my husband and I moved back to his hometown in Cornwall. Outside of the clinic, you can find me exploring the local beaches and coastal paths (with a coffee, of course). I decided to return to my passion for caring for others in the health and fitness industry (my original career path prior to teaching) after dealing with work-related stress and suffering from chronic pain following a severe back injury. As a result, I have a special interest in the connection between mental health and how we feel pain. My goal is to help as many people as possible who are coping with injuries, pain, and/or stress by providing soft tissue therapy, which combines massage, education, and rehabilitation to help you take control of your pain or injury. I qualified as a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist after studying with the Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage (ISRM) at The Massage Training School in Exmouth. I have treated a wide variety of injuries, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal pain both in my clinic and for a short period prior to COVID, for the Camborne Rugby Football Club while assisting the lead physio.

Not only does it still do the job it was designed to do of lifting boats and barges the 50 feet from the River Weaver Navigation to the Trent & Mersey Canal, but it does it with the most ingenious and endearing character of any structure on the canal system. In the spring of 1965 a few members of Belmont church were concerned that their children, born in 1961, would not have a place in Belmont primary school in September 1965 as there were too many children for the place available, and it was felt that there was a need for a playgroup. Belmont Church was approached to see if a hall could be used for the group. All financial and other arrangements were organised by the church committee and in May 1965 Belmont Pres-School Playgroup opened its doors in Belmont Church. Belmont was the first Nippa run playgroup in Northern Ireland. UTV broadcast a programme from Belmont around 1980-81 which was hosted by Frank Carson and starred the children and staff. Funds were raised through hosting coffee mornings and it was also an opportunity to meet parent and children on a social basis. We remained at Belmont Presbyterian Church until June 2002 when we were to move to pastures new at Belmont Tower. However we were accommodated by St Mark’s Church due to awaiting completion of renovations to Belmont Tower. We spent from September 2002 to April 2004 at St Marks and moved to Belmont Tower in May 2004. In June 2006 the preschool room was awarded an accreditation by NIPPA (The Early Years Association) which was a great achievement. We spend a happy two years in Belmont Tower but when our lease finished we were grateful to St Marks for accommodating us on a temporary basis. We spent over a year in St Mark’s Heyn Hall offering a variety of indoor and outdoor play in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. In November 2008 we were filmed for the Peoples Millions with the support of the community, past pupils, staff , friends, family and our current parents, we won the £50,0000, that with our past fundraising events and the support of the Education Authority we obtained enough funds for a new build which commenced building in February 2009 and was completed 3rd April 2009. We opened our doors on the 20th April 2009 and with the opportunity of new ventures for the playcare.
