Home About Us Our Team School training Holiday courses Family training Adult training Learn to Ride Contact 2 / 10 Wheely Fun Wheels has gathered an experienced team of locally based National Standard Cycling instructors who are keen to promote the use of bicycles as every day transport. Amongst our group of instructors we have qualified bike mechanics, ‘Breeze’ leaders, British Cycling coaches and experience of working with disabilities. Our Bikeability instructors also deliver our balance bike programme and adult cycle training. Our sister company Inclusive Pedals CIC is a social enterprise delivering many community cycling initiatives (Dr Bike, Adapted Cycling, Cycling Without Age & 'Couch to 10 Miles') with the same staff involved as well as a team of volunteers. Wheely Fun Wheels Ltd is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The business is run by Alastair Meikle who was raised in Chesterfield and after leaving school spent 30 years working for the Civil Aviation Authority and National Air Traffic Services. One of a very few people who regularly cycled to work at the London Air Traffic Control Centre! Following his decision to leave air traffic control he spent a year touring Europe in a motorhome with his family and bicycles before relocating back to Chesterfield and starting Wheely Fun Wheels. Alastair was the winner of the national Modeshift award in 2017 'Individual Contribution to Sustainable Travel' and in 2019 delivered practical training workshops at the national Bikeability conference. Whilst we are often on our bikes for our daily transport needs most of us also tour on our bikes, do the occasional race and take part in sportives, one of our instructors organises long distance rides in the Peak District. Instructors are members of Chesterfield Cycle Campaign. Check out local cycling maps and route suggestions on their website. Abbeywood remains fond in my memories and I really cherish the time I have spent there. Truth be told I have never been that good in academics before I went to the UK but I believe the fun I had in school there made me a person who was eager to learn more and develop a thirst for knowledge. Please send all my love and thanks to all the teachers there who have supported me through my high school days at Abbeywood. Thank you very much for providing me with a safe and comfortable learning environment. A lot of what I have learnt there has shaped the person I am today, not just in academics but also morally. I believed I have gained a lot of confidence and become a very critical thinker during my time there. Do send my regards to the community in Abbeywood, especially the teachers that taught me and my fellow friends. Thank you too sir for being very encouraging and supportive!

Multiflex School Sports

Altrincham

ABOUT US Multiflex School Sports was originally started in 1989 by athletics coaches Tom Davies and Ron Newton. The original company name was T & R Sports Development. T & R Sports Development were given financial backing by ICI and later Astra Zeneca to deliver a sporting programme to Primary schools and High Schools to enthuse young children about sport. This programme used high achievers in sport such as Great Britain international athletes and professional Basketball players to deliver a programme that not only developed fitness and skill levels of young children but increased their enjoyment of sport and gave them a route into sports clubs outside of the school environment. Following the success of this programme Multiflex Sports was formed and went on to continue this sporting programme with local authorities and also Sports-hall athletics and Eveque sport and leisure. In 2005 the government introduced P.P.A. (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) to all UK Primary Schools. This meant that all teachers would then be allocated 2 hours a week away from their class timetable to make use of their PPA time effectively. Coincidently 2 hours a week is also the amount of time each child should receive P.E. lessons for so Multiflex altered their business model to provide PPA cover for schools in and around Cheshire. Mark Webb who is the Managing director of Multiflex realised there was an opportunity to provide high quality P.E. lessons in line with the National curriculum guidance on a weekly basis, whilst also providing support for schools and teachers through PPA cover. Multiflex developed a P.E. scheme for Primary schools that covered 6 areas of sport in line with the curriculum. The areas are as follows: Athletics Dance Gymnastics Invasion Games Striking and Fielding Net and Wall

The Education Concierge

London

Our approach is to set up each child for future success. We do this by always putting your child at the centre and by keeping the short and longer term aspirations of your family in mind. The Education Concierge was founded by Gabrielle Villani BA (Hons), B ED (Distinction), MA Media (Distinction), MA Literacy Development, FCollT, whose skills and expertise in educational management and independent school education span pre-preparatory (early years), preparatory (primary) and secondary schooling in both the UK and abroad. Gabrielle founded The Education Concierge in 2013 and directed this prior to joining Salamanca Group as Head of Education Services for five years. During this time, she merged her education background with experience of private client services and worked alongside family offices and private client advisors to find the most appropriate and reputable schools, university courses and careers experiences for families. In her role as a school manager of a London independent school, Gabrielle experienced first-hand the need for parents to receive impartial, trusted advice and personal attention with their child’s education. With 20 years’ experience in nurturing the academic development of children aged 3 to 17 years, Gabrielle has expert knowledge of how children learn and how to cater to their educational needs. She understands that a child’s future is shaped by the quality of education he or she receives. Supporting families with educational choices and planning ‘next steps’ in a child’s education, are two essential skills that Gabrielle brings to helping families. Gabrielle understands that in a global economy, and in senior positions of business; families are often required to move in a moment’s notice. Making a transition to the right educational ‘home’ can be complex. With this in mind, she established The Education Concierge to ease the transition process and provide families with insights and solutions for enhancing their child’s education.

Nara Assoc of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers

nara assoc of property and fixed charge receivers

Bexley

Nara was formed in 1995 by a group of professionals from the property, legal, and insolvency disciplines, concerned at what was perceived to be a lack of standards by some practitioners when undertaking fixed charge or Law of Property Act receivership appointments. Since that time Nara has introduced written standards, trained practitioners for relevant examinations, provided continuing professional development and worked with stakeholders, inc lenders, borrowers and government as the pre-eminent trade association for fixed charge receivers. The Association is multi-disciplinary and its membership is drawn from a broad range of professionals including accountants, surveyors and valuers, insolvency practitioners, and lawyers. Its Council is drawn from leading members of the combined professions across the country and their expertise has produced a structure for insolvency work of this type. The Association has a detailed Code of Practice, Professional Statements and Guidance Notes to which all of its members have agreed to adhere. Nara promotes training of members and provides a substantial number of training hours. Nara also publishes a regular e-newsletter and a twice yearly printed newsletter, which is widely circulated not only to members, but also within the banking fraternity from whom it receives the fullest support. Nara fully endorses the concept of regulation and played a pivotal role in developing the scheme for voluntary licensing of fixed charge receivers. This resulted in a voluntary scheme of registration culminating in a revised Memorandum of Understanding in July 2017 between Nara, RICS and IPA. Under this scheme practitioners are monitored and regulated. Nara represents members’ interests at the interface with Government, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (formerly the Department of Trade and Industry), the Insolvency Service, and other external agencies, and is now firmly established as the leading voice for fixed charge receivers.

Fiona Scott

Wiltshire

I was born in the 1960s in Somerset, UK the eldest of two daughters of Heather and Nick Bune. My mum was a housewife and dad a welder after starting an early career as a coal miner. The coal mining industry ran in the blood of my family as both grandfathers and all of my great grandfathers were coal miners. I grew up in a happy, loving home where money was always tight. There were no daytrips, no foreign holidays for me – in fact we didn’t have a telephone until I was a teenager and we didn’t have a car until I’d left home. At school I was one of those children who sits in the middle, grey and unnoticed, yet plodding on. I got seven O levels and a qualification in touch typing –my careers ‘adviser’ told me I should am to be a secretary or a nurse. Not a chance! However, I didn’t do as well in my A levels as expected and ended up going to a more ‘lowly’ college of higher education, now Bath Spa University. I took a degree in English Literature & History and loved it. I did well in my degree, getting a high 2:1 and took a PGCE and trained to be a teacher though quickly realised this was not for me. I always wanted to be a journalist – I used that year to apply for any relevant job. I eventually got a traineeship on a local newspaper in Somerset, then two years later moved on to a daily newspaper in Swindon, where I went on to be crime reporter and then business editor. I was also running as a volunteer a radio programme for Hospital Radio Swindon.

CEO & FOUNDER Made his first money in software writing a version of Pacman for the TRS-80. TRS-80! That ten quid didn’t go far though, so he gave up and let everyone else do the work for him. Kind, generous, intelligent, good-looking man. Signs the paycheques. Paul Caley DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Centre of the operation. Banned from his local chip shop because he has to have a finger in every pie. Originally from the Isle of Man so has three legs, no tail, and hates paying tax. Andy Hill FINANCIAL DIRECTOR When he's not on the golf course, or on a grand tour of Europe, or at a black-tie dinner, or entertaining at a major sports event, you'll find him working incredibly hard in his office. Unless he's at lunch. And except in the afternoons and all day on Friday of course, when he's playing golf. It's a tough gig, Finance Director. Ben Dean SENIOR DEVELOPER Like all coders, Ben takes an hour to eat his Alphabetti Spaghetti because he has to finish all the 'A's before starting the 'B’s and so on. Tells jokes like, "There are 10 kinds of people, those who know binary and those who don’t." We once gave him Numberetti so that he could finish his lunch whilst it was still warm. Big mistake. Developers don’t like sudden changes to their routines.
