I’m a hugely experienced Coach based in Holland Park. With many thousands of coaching hours under my belt, I pride myself on having a reputation for empathetic and effective coaching. Prior to coaching, I was the award-winning MD of a TV production company and worked all over the world on many types of show. My job history has also included roles as a secretary, restaurant manager, saleswoman and lady’s companion. I believe my varied work experience and eclectic cultural interests have helped make me a better coach. My clients are from many different sectors and the vast majority come through personal recommendation. I currently coach people working in digital media, marketing, music, science, broadcasting, law and town planning. I also coach students at Imperial College, London. Having trained in the UK and US, I use many different tools and techniques. I have a Diploma in Coaching from the Oxford & Cambridge Board and have completed Team Coaching and Clean Language Coaching courses. In addition, I’m a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I enjoy working face-to-face with clients but am well-versed in coaching remotely, something I do regularly with my international clients. My style is challenging but supportive. I am equally comfortable and confident dealing with professional or personal issues. As a matter of course, I offer a free initial consultation session because I believe, as in any relationship, chemistry is essential for the work to be truly effective.

London

CTVC is a multi-BAFTA-winning and Grierson nominated independent production company producing content that raises important ethical and moral issues, from the perspective of all faiths and none. Broadcasting across all networks, both in the UK and internationally, our television, radio, education and online platforms aim is to get people thinking and talking. Established in 1978 by Lord and Lady Rank, CTVC is a registered charity which receives a grant from the Rank Foundation; a grant-giving charitable trust whose mission is to improve the lives of young and disadvantaged people and their communities, across the UK. The company ethos was sparked in the 1930s when, as a Sunday school teacher, J. Arthur Rank became frustrated by the limited teaching materials for children and decided to take matters into his own hands (a legacy we continue today through our subsidiary, TrueTube). He established the ‘Religious Film Society’ to produce films for schools and churches. From there the slate and variance of projects grew, and Lord Rank went on to purchase the Odeon Cinema chain and Elstree Studios, as well as set up the legendary Pinewood Film Studios. The Centre for Television and Communication, as it became known, saw the thriving operation move to newly built studios in a converted country house named ‘Hillside’. Based in Bushey, North London, an early production, Will the Real Jesus Christ Please Stand Up? featured a fresh faced, young Hugh Grant. In 2005 we changed our name to CTVC Ltd and although we have progressed with the rapidly changing media landscape, the principles laid out by Lord Rank’s vision are still at the heart of everything we do. Above all, CTVC are passionate believers in the power and importance of media to educate, challenge and inspire.

Liverpool

Blackburne House, formerly the Women’s Technology and Education Centre (WTEC), was established in 1983 with the aim of progressing women from disadvantaged backgrounds into employment within technical professions – an area in which, at the time, women were significantly under-represented. The organisation grew quickly and considerably and, in 1991, moved into new premises in Liverpool’s famous Georgian Quarter. More than £4m was raised in order to breathe new life back into Blackburne House and the beautiful, Grade II-listed building became our new home. Today, Blackburne House is a vibrant and thriving organisation and one of the country’s leading education centres for women – but we wouldn’t have experienced the growth we have without the help of our partner organisations. Over the years, we have established a number of successful social enterprises that succeed in supporting our educational aims and provide tangible examples of how new markets can be used to serve local communities. Attracting thousands of visitors each year, our facilities now include a thriving bistro, health spa, conference and events facilities and a 30-place nursery. HISTORY OF THE BULDING Blackburne House is a stunning Grade II-listed building, situated on Hope Street in Liverpool’s famous Georgian Quarter. Hope Street was voted Britain’s Best Street in 2012 and it’s little wonder; it’s a strikingly beautiful area, boasting two cathedrals and some of the best restaurants in town, not to mention a lively arts scene and independent retailers. You can read more about Hope Street here. The building has a deep-rooted history in providing education to women and girls – dating as far back as the mid-1800s as the first girl's school in the country – with some well-known faces passing through its doors, including former MP Edwina Currie, actress Tina Malone and journalist Gillian Reynolds, who was awarded an MBE in 1999 for her services to broadcasting. The Liverpool Institute High School for Girls, as Blackburne House was formerly known, closed its doors in 1986 and the building remained unused until 1992. We reopened the doors to a totally transformed Blackburne House in 1994, following an extensive programme of regeneration. Today, the building retains much of its original charm, whilst a suite of new facilities ensure it is comfortable and accessible for students and visitors alike. We are currently undergoing a planned refurbishment programme of the building to ensure its continuation of purpose, reduced environmental impacts and to future-proof it for the student and visitors of the future. You can read more about the history of Blackburne House here. VISION & VALUES The vision of Blackburne House is to educate and upskill women so that they can pursue professions in every sector and at every level – including maintenance, logistics and technology, where women are still typically under-represented. We aspire to give confidence to the women we work with so that they can go on to live independent lives, believe in their dreams and achieve their ambitions. We want to inspire our women to believe that anything is possible. We want to instil a culture of empathy and understanding; of inclusion and acceptance. We want to overcome prejudice, discrimination and adversity and create a positive and holistic environment where women can share, learn and grow. At Blackburne House, we have a core set of values that is ingrained into everything that we do. Those values are integral to our organisation, helping to define our long-term aims and objectives and influence the way we work. We are committed to inspiring the women we work with at Blackburne House; raising aspirations is built into our education and development programmes and always reflected in our teaching, working and the services we provide. INSPIRATION TRANSFORMATION By thinking and working creatively, we continually seek new ways to meet and exceed our financial, social and environmental aims – renewing and transforming areas of our business to ensure that we positively influence everyone who works with us. EQUALITY Blackburne House actively promotes a holistic approach to improving the lives of women – all women. We are committed to developing the services we offer to ensure that we are delivering services that will contribute to improving the lives of women. INDEPENDENCE We seek to promote confidence amongst the women we help and aim to equip them in order that they can be both personally and financially independent. We have also established a number of social enterprise businesses and a programme of charitable activity so that Blackburne House can be commercially independent. SOCIAL VALUE As a high-performing social business, our social purpose and the social value we create is key to all of the activities undertaken at Blackburne House. We are home to a wide range of social businesses including The School for Social Entrepreneurs, Blackburne House Bistro, Blackburne House Nursery, The Health Place, and Blackburne House Conferencing and Events – all of which create social value for the wider community. All of our profits enable us to deliver outstanding educational and economic opportunities for women from across the city who view Blackburne House as a safe place to access learning and personal development. Feedback from our learners and customers has proven that, by offering a range of educational opportunities, women across the city go on to access higher education and employment, becoming role models for their family and friends. Blackburne House is key to the economic activity of many women and this can only be achieved as our social enterprises generate income and opportunities.

The Institute of Acoustics is the UK's professional body for those working in acoustics, noise and vibration. It was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society (a daughter society of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers). The Institute of Acoustics is a nominated body of the Engineering Council, offering registration at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer levels. The Institute has some 3000 members from a rich diversity of backgrounds, with engineers, scientists, educators, lawyers, occupational hygienists, architects and environmental health officers among their number. This multidisciplinary culture provides a productive environment for cross-fertilisation of ideas and initiatives. The range of interests of members within the world of acoustics is equally wide, embracing such aspects as aerodynamics, architectural acoustics, building acoustics, electroacoustics, engineering dynamics, noise and vibration, hearing, speech, underwater acoustics, together with a variety of environmental aspects. The lively nature of the Institute is demonstrated by the breadth of its learned society programmes. There are three corporate grades of membership, namely Honorary Fellow, Fellow, and Member, and four non-corporate grades of Associate Member, Technician Member, Affiliate, and Student. The Institute is well supported by organisations which have become Sponsor Members and by its Key Sponsors. A recent employment survey shows that of our 3000 members, some 900 are employed in industry, commerce and consultancies, 400 in education and research, and nearly 500 in public authorities. Among the more specialist areas in which acousticians are employed are the audio and hi-fi industry, auditorium and concert hall design, broadcasting, telecommunications, quiet vehicle and product design, sonar system design, human-computer interaction, environmental noise control and health and safety management. The Institute works closely with other professional bodies in related fields, including CIEH, REHIS and IOSH and the Association of Noise Consultants. As one of the smaller professional institutions, the Institute of Acoustics has particular strengths in its learned society programmes and its cohesive role for the subject. There is a club atmosphere in its activities and it is possible for members to maintain personal contacts with colleagues engaged in other related areas of acoustics. There is a high participation rate by members in the conference, subject specialist meetings and regional branch activities of the Institute. The Institute offers members a Continuous Professional Development support scheme, a feature which is becoming increasingly recognised as an essential element in ensuring that professionals can keep up-to-date with rapidly changing technological and regulatory issues. Specialist interests are catered for through specialist groups, and regional activities are promoted by a number of regional branches. The work of the Institute relies heavily, of course, on the voluntary efforts of many members of Council, of its Standing Committees and of the Group and Branch Committees. The Institute publishes a bi-monthly Acoustics Bulletin, containing articles of professional, academic and technical interest and the Institute's Proceedings record the two hundred or more papers presented at our formal meetings each year. An education programme, comprising a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and several Certificate of Competence courses is offered at a number of Centres throughout the UK. The Diploma is also available by tutored distance learning. Through specialist Institute of Acoustics working groups, support is given to the development of legislation in these areas, and there is considerable activity by Institute members in UK, European and International Standards development. The Institute is a founding member of the European Acoustics Association (EAA), a member society of the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE) and a member of the International Commission for Acoustics (ICA)
