The Scottish Potters Association is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO, number SC048850) registered with the Office of the Scottish Charities Register. Charitable Purposes The Scottish Potters Association objectives are the advancement of the Arts and Culture and in furtherance of this: To promote and encourage the making, appreciation and development of Scottish pottery and ceramic craft, art and culture. To provide information and opportunities for communication and collaboration between ceramic makers, artists and the public. To work in partnership with other organisations. To provide and promote Equal Opportunities such that; the organisation will not discriminate based on race, sex, disability, sexuality, age or based on political, religious or other opinions. As and if required by funders and/or members, the fuller Local Authority Equal Opportunities policies may be adopted. Activities To meet those objectives, the SPA aims to: arrange opportunities for the public: to see potters at work; to get hands on with clay; to see potters work on display; run workshops for members; organise demonstration events for members; organise public exhibitions of members work; produce and distribute a map of potters active in Scotland; provide financial support in the form of a bursary; provide opportunities for members to network. We are run by members for members and we work to support our members whether they are experienced professionals or just getting started. If you want to know more about our committee, click here. The SPA is open to anyone with an interest in pottery and ceramics in Scotland including professionals, amateurs/hobby potters and students We offer workshops, exhibitions and other opportunities for networking throughout the year as well as a quarterly newsletter packed with features about what our members have been up to as well as useful hints and tips. We also get involved in partner events such as Potfest at the Palace and Hey Clay! Crescent Art Gallery is a platform that bring you art and photography works to the surface around the Pakistan, it will help you to find new artists, & galleries to go and see and encourage appreciating visual arts.Founded in 2006, Crescent Art Gallery is home to one of the largest Modern and Contemporary South Asian art collections in Pakistan. We deal in Contemporary and Traditional Pakistani Art. Our primary art business includes special exhibitions and private sales. Founder and Chairman Mr. Nasir Javed laid out the foundations of this gallery with an aim of not just to promote Art, but to promote Pakistan and its Art across the world. Crescent Art Gallery has curated the largest exhibition held in Pakistan and also among the largest in the world exhibiting 300 paintings at a single event. This event exhibited paintings of Master Pakistani Artists such as Tassaduq Sohail, Iqbal Hussain, Chitra Pritam and Ahmed Khan. Crescent Art Gallery is also the First art gallery in Pakistan’s history to have been granted a space at the National Museum of Pakistan in Karachi. This space has been allotted for the Master Artist, Late Tassaduq Sohail’s Art Gallery to offer such an Artist Tribute.

We believe that contemporary art and creativity are central to the development of people and places. We have an extensive exhibition and residency programme which helps support early, mid-career and established artists to create work which deals with pressing social, political and environmental issues. Each year we welcome over 4000 people from all sections of the diverse communities of Derby and beyond to experience inspiring, innovative and high-quality exhibitions and events. Over 25 years we have developed links all over the world, building a global creative community that helps us support aspiring artists in the contemporary art world.

The School is a non-profit making organisation with over 100 pupils and employs over 20 members of staff. The management team includes talented individuals from the community who sacrifice their time for the betterment of our future generations, community and purely for the sake of Allaah (awj). We teach three core subjects; Qur’an, Islamic Studies and Qur’anic Arabic for 6 to 16+ year olds. We also have an Arabic wing dedicated to Arabic speaking children. We strive to attain the highest possible standards within the school. Staff work together with the pupils to ensure we achieve and maintain our goals. Our main purpose is to please Allaah ﷻ and provide a high standard of Islamic educational to our students. ILC aims to offer a happy and vibrant Islamic environment for learning and helping to ignite the light of knowledge in the hearts of all students. This is achieved through dedication and teamwork. It is built on a foundation to please Allaah (awj) following His beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) . We expect all teachers to interact and teach our students by following the way that our Prophet did and to adhere to our key values. Our beloved Prophet taught, dealt and interacted with children in such a way that many of them grew up to be outstanding companions and model Muslims. He taught us that in order to nurture Imaan in our children; we must first build the foundation blocks.

I have been working as a blacksmith for over 30 years and have lots of experience and anecdotes to share with participants over the course! I enjoy my career in metalworking, and making and creating products is a totally satisfying way to earn a living. I want to re-create this experience for everyone attending my courses – a real taste of a day in the life of a blacksmith! I was always driven by the desire to ‘make things’ – and on leaving school I started working at a local forge and learning the trade. I choose metal as a medium originally purely as it was more forgiving than wood, although I do enjoy working with wood too nowadays and have started a bit of side-line in sheds and summerhouses.
