The Romani Cultural Arts Company. is the leading Romani and Traveller community-based organisation in Wales, traditionally using the arts and culture as a vehicle for advocacy and empowerment, amongst the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. RCAC is also supporting individuals to become “Community Champions”, as actors and agents of change in their own communities, making a difference for themselves and the wider society. RCAC is managed by a Board (voluntary management committee) made up of representatives from the GRT communities, meaning that community members have a role as decision-makers and are part of the process of shaping the advocacy and rights agenda that RCAC promotes. The Company believes it is essential that the GRT communities be at the forefront of social progress and positive developments in social inclusion, in the struggle or the recognition of GRT rights and promoting inter-cultural understanding. Within Wales and increasingly across the UK, our advice and expertise is sought by local governments, policy-makers, decision-takers and local or national institutions. We are asked to evaluate the effectiveness of their policies and strategies or to support them in consultation to ensure the voice of the GRT communities they serve, is heard. We lead on advocacy for these vulnerable communities, influencing the policy and strategy agendas in the context of a devolved Welsh Government and increasingly internationally across the UK. For Every Cloud was established by Donna Vale in 2013, a creative venue based in Langport, a small town in the heart of the Somerset levels. Having graduated with a first class honors degree in art and textiles I wanted to create a space where people can learn, have fun, relax and make friends, this is really important but I also wanted an environment where visitors wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. My business mission statement ‘where friendship and creativity meet’ sums up the ethos of what we do at For Every Cloud. A shop and gallery stocking local art and craft features alongside my own. Workshops are held in the gallery space and studio, which is also used to teach screen printing. Both spaces can be hired by tutors and artists alike utilising their skills to teach popular classes such as needle felting. The workshop list is varied and attracts people from as far as London, France and Denmark who come with friends and family to stay in this beautiful part of the country, booking days to make and take… and of course have tea and cake. From experimental textiles to bookbinding, etching with Perspex to calligraphy, there is something here for everyone. I work alongside local B&B’s and cafes to provide an all round experience, offering bespoke events for hen parties, corporate functions and children’s birthdays and more recently, a summer school for adults. As well as workshops I create bespoke calligraphy and stationery for weddings, sublimation printing for personalised gifts. A signmaking service is also available for all your business and personal needs. Whether you need a new shop front or graphics for your vehicle, we are happy to help with the design and installation.

CBD is part of Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme (CPP).

I grew up in Nairn, A lovely town in the North East of Scotland that boasts a stunning beach and sea views over to the Black Isle. I loved art in school and was lucky to have inspirational art teachers in high school. I spent a year at Inverness College getting an art portfolio ready for applying to art school. Art school never did happen and instead I started work full time in a porcelain factory, life then took over and art was put on the back burner for many, many years. My career included working in primary schools and nurseries where the highlight of the job was art classes with the kids! Around 2014 I got my sketch books out again and started dabbling with different mediums. I was introduced to needle felting through a colleague at work, and the rest is history! 8 years on I feel very luck to spend my entire working week making and selling my art, currently from my lovely wee gallery in the heart of the village of Drumnadrochit. I also supply printed versions of my work on a range of home and gift ware to shops all over the country, this helps to get my images seen by a wider audience and in turn brings in commission work. Being creative is something I can’t live without. I feel like a piece of me is missing if I don’t have some project on the go. Art is my passion. Void is a contemporary art gallery with up to five exhibitions per year showing the work of established international and Irish artists.Void is a contemporary art gallery that commissions and produces a visual arts programme that aims to challenge our audience and promote the arts to new and existing audiences. The programme supports a diverse range of artistic practices of national and international artists. The programme focuses on the collaborative nature of art and its ability to add to artistic discourse through exhibitions, events, discussions and partnerships. Through our commissions we work with a network of arts organisations both nationally and internationally to create specific projects. A key element of the gallery is Void Engage, our learning and outreach programme, which places participation and engagement at the heart of Void, making contemporary visual art accessible to visitors of all ages.

Georgia Marshall-Brown is the Mum and brains behind teddyand.me. Frustrated by boring, gender stereotyped children’s fashion, Georgia took up her needle and thread and set about designing original, fun and comfortable clothes for her son. A passionate and lifelong craft-a-holic, Georgia has a BaHons in Graphic Design, MA in Design Practice, and also studied at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. In 2017, she won Dressmaker of the Year in the Children’s Wear category. Teddyand.me was inspired by Georgia’s desire to nurture her son’s creativity and originality. She believes that every child is unique - the clothes they wear and the toys they play with are a vital part of how they learn to be themselves.
