The Silver Duck was founded in 2012 by Bristol based award-winning silversmith Charlotte Anne Duckworth. The Silver Duck designs and produces bespoke artisan silverware, tableware and jewellery. Crafting beautiful utensils and tableware from sterling silver and English holly wood, bringing the joy of fine dining to your home. Charlotte creates exquisite yet functional pieces of art for the kitchen to bring people together over food and be in the present moment. The ethos revolves around simple, elegant designs that are ergonomic and tactile. With the intention of provoking people to appreciate their food and take time over their daily routines and rituals in the kitchen. Using traditional techniques of forging and raising, Charlotte has an inherent understanding of the materials that she works with, creating magical pieces that preserve and capture their natural qualities. Teaching the craft and sharing knowledge through public workshops, The Silver Duck offers jewellery and silversmithing workshops and courses to introduce you to the world of silversmithing.

Performance is a product of consistent professional training. At EPiC, we have been helping to mould lifestyles and sculpt our members into the best versions of theirselves for years. The EPiC community is a model that has been built around the successes of our coaches, who act as walking examples to how implementing the EPiC way into their lives can draw out the positives in almost any situation. Our coaches have helped thousands of people to develop their own lives by simply following the examples that are set in our classes, our everyday lives and share the success in sport martial art competitions. We have used every setback along the way to come back stronger and in 2019 we opened two fantastic full-time training facilities. Our centre of excellence in Bradley Stoke, Bristol and our state-of-the-art EPiC Gym in Portishead, North Somerset. With just a 15-minute drive separating these two facilities, we have the same core staff working across both centres so that everyone gets a chance to learn from our incredibly experienced and inspirational team. In terms of Martial Arts we have a whole host of World, European and British champions and we have a host of wealth of knowledge in terms of the skills our coaching team have amassed. These include Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing, Kung Fu, Krav Maga, Eskrima and Jiu Jitsu. The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba, was born on December 14, 1883, to a farming family in an area of the Wakayama Prefecture now known as Tanabe. Among five children, he was the only son. From his father Yoroku, he inherited a samurai's determination and interest in public affairs, and from his mother an intense interest in religion, poetry and art. In his early childhood, Morihei was rather weak and sickly, which led to his preference of staying indoors to read books instead of playing outside. He loved to listen to the miraculous legends of the wonder-working saints "En no Gyoja" and "Kobo Daishi," and was fascinated by the esoteric Buddhist rituals. Morihei had even considered becoming a Buddhist priest at one time.

Aikido is a Japanese martial art created in the first half of the twentieth century by Morihei Ueshiba. It combines elements of classical jujutsu with concepts of movement and body management derived from sword fighting, and was in part framed by Ueshiba’s own spiritual beliefs. Aikido contains a syllabus of throws and joint-locks which can be adapted to a wide variety of situations. Much of aikido’s technical focus is on the achievement of relaxed, unstoppable power, derived from the development of internal connections within the body. The individual techniques serve to train the body to respond appropriately in a martial context.
