HENRY MORRIS Impington Village College opened its doors in 1939 within days of the declaration of World War II. It was the fourth Village College to be established in Cambridgeshire by the visionary educationalist Henry Morris, who firmly believed that both formal and informal education should be a lifelong process, a vision that carved an innovative new approach for education. The foundation of Impington Village College was made possible through the foresight and generosity of the Chivers family, who donated land, support and finance. The original building was designed by Walter Gropius, founder of The Bauhaus School of Architecture, and his partner Maxwell Fry. The iconic design was a radical departure from the taut educational establishments of the Victorian era, and introduced many innovations that had not been seen before. The original construction, which is now Grade 1 Listed, still stands at the heart of the College and continues to attract visitors from all over the world.

The beginnings of the Museum in Wdzydze date back to 1906. Its creators, Teodora and Izydor Gulgowscy, were the founders of the first open-air museum in Poland at that time. They arranged it in an 18th-century peasant cottage, which they bought from a local farmer - Michał Hinc. There, they gathered, typical for that time, household and farm equipment, as well as a valuable collection of gold-embroidered bonnets, paintings painted on glass and ceramics. The scientific activity and social passions of the founders of the Museum also resulted in the development of local handicrafts and discovered the beauty of Kashubian folk art, which lies in the intricate root braids and multi-colored Wdzydze embroideries. Currently, over 100 years old, the Museum covers 22 hectares of land located on the shores of Lake Gołuń, developed with objects of regional architecture. Cottages, manor houses, school, smithy, inns, windmills, churches, outbuildings and craft workshops - over 50 objects from Kashubia, Kociewie and Bory Tucholskie testify to the diversity of rural construction from the 17th to the 20th century. The Regency Town House at 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, is a Grade 1 listed terraced property built in the 1820s as part of architect Charles Busby's 'Brunswick Estate'. Today it is being developed as a museum and heritage centre with a focus on the architecture and social history of Brighton & Hove between the 1780s and 1840 Our main building at 13 Brunswick Square and its Basement Annexe a few doors away at number 10 are being restored to their former glory by our team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Years of accumulated paint layers have been removed, plasterwork and mouldings have been repaired and original finishes have been analysed and recreated. This gives provides an insight into the building materials and techniques that were used in the past and allows us to keep that expertise alive today as we learn how to recreate the To support the restoration process our volunteers organize fund-raising events, including workshops, performances, readings and recitals. The Town House rooms can be hired for art and photography exhibitions and events such as readings, book launches, and small functions.

The central arch leads into what was formerly the Market Hall. In 1926 it was converted into a Council Chamber for Hartlepool and a dance hall with a capacity for 2,000 people. Over the next almost 100 years it has little in terms of its design but greatly in terms of its function currently being an entertainment venue with meeting rooms, offices, a library and a wedding venue. The main auditorium has a capacity of 1,200 and has lift access from the entrance. The building has a separate bar, Constables Bar, accessible from the main street that can be accessible to the main auditorium at events; there is also a temporary bar on the ground floor and a well maintained kitchen. The cellar lies in the basement of Constables Bar and is not accessible directly from the main auditorium. There are male, female and accessible toilets on the ground floor, in the auditorium and in the main bar. The balcony is accessible from the East and West areas of the main auditorium. On the first floor of the South-East wing of the Borough Hall boasts a Mayor’s Parlour and Mayors Chamber that has a 100 capacity. Moving towards the South-West of the first floor the building accumulates a core of smaller rooms that are not in use or for small meetings/storage areas. There is also a large room, Sandwellgate Room, which is a meeting room and Middlegate Room, which provides registrars wedding services.
