It tells the story of who we are and what we value. Nine years ago Rowan was commissioned to ghostwrite a series of stories about people using a particular self-advocacy tool. She shared (often very humbling) experiences with 100 people using the tool to plan for births, deaths and everything in between. ONE HUNDRED STUDIO is a celebration of this learning. Acacia has developed and continues to improve its range of services which provide demonstrable benefit for all sector stakeholders. Our highly qualified instructors deliver relevant health & social care courses which equip and enable professionals to deliver a quality service within their care services. Acacia staff are highly trained, rigorously vetted and adhere to the four Guiding Principles to ensure they set the best example and lead the way in improving local Health and Social Care Services. For the wider community, the Acacia Foundation provides a free Advocacy Service as well as Health and Well Being Workshops to help people within the community access the services and support they need.

Falls Women’s Centre was established in 1982 in West Belfast by local women in order to improve the quality of life for women and their families living in areas of extreme deprivation and most affected by the conflict. It is based in West Belfast, a community recognised as one of the poorest in Western Europe. The Falls Women’s Centre was the first of its kind in the area and has continually worked to raise awareness within the community and with statutory agencies on issues that affect women’s lives. The Falls Women's Centre is a community development organisation which, through long term experience and expertise, responds quickly and appropriately to community needs. “These needs are not static but change and evolve as communities themselves change and evolve over time”. The Falls Women’s Centre is a women-only centre. It is staffed and managed entirely by women and is seen as an important support for the community locally, nationally and internationally. It is used as a referral point by community, voluntary and statutory agencies. The Falls Women’s Centre/Ionad Mhná na bhFál is involved in the economic development of the community and continues to support women’s development within the area through the provision of training, education, childcare, advice, advocacy, counselling, health and well-being.

Project 4 Youth Empowerment (P4YE) is a Community Interest Company born by four friends who became tired of constantly speaking about issues impacting young people negatively, so they decided to do something about it. Concerned about the number of young people involved in, or on the verge of criminality, unemployed, or not in education or training, our team decided to try to change the narrative by dedicating tailored programmes for young people. We assist young people and families by offering a range of support such as group and 1:1 mentoring, online workshops, case study workshops, a weekly youth club, advocacy, and signposting to other professional services. Prevention, intervention, and diversional work is at the forefront of what we do and what we aim for with our young people. We have been trained in Conflict Resolution and mediation and work to resolve instances that can often lead to situations of serious youth violence by using our bespoke methods. Our team has many years of experience of working with young people in a variety of settings such as youth work, teaching, specialised gang work, outreach work and working with young people with special educational needs (SEN). We also have experience in leadership, project management and media and we use our skill sets when developing projects and programmes.

Since 2010 we have worked in over 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America with children's rights agencies and donors that are supporting exploited children and young people. Through consultancy : We work with NGOs and donors that support exploited children and young people. Our advice service builds organisations' capacity to integrate children's participation into organisational policy and structure, and develop programmes that are based on needs identified by children themselves. Our technical advice and consultancy includes programme evaluation and grant assessment, qualitative research and policy reviews as well as capacity building and training staff and children. Through our projects : We facilitate children's activism and advocacy in order to influence national and international policy and practice. We design and co-ordinate participatory research and projects that empower exploited children. We have successfully supported child domestic workers to campaign nationally and internationally; influencing the International Labour Organisation's Domestic Workers Convention and introducing local by-laws to protect children from exploitation. Our Team Children Unite was founded by Jonathan Blagbrough and Helen Veitch who, between them, have over 40 years experience in the children's rights and child labour field. More...
