Gas engineers holding either a CCN1 (Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety) or COCN1 (Core Commercial Gas Safety) qualification.
Individuals seeking to expand their service range to include LPG appliances in: o Permanent Dwellings (PD) o Residential Park Homes (RPH)
Course Content:
The program equips you with the CONGLP1 qualification alongside specialized modules for each application:
CONGLP1 PD - Permanent Dwellings: Learn the specific considerations for safe LPG installations and servicing in permanent residences.
CONGLP1 LAV- Leisure Accommodation Vehicles: Gain expertise in handling LPG appliances in caravans, motorhomes, and other leisure vehicles.
CONGLP1 RPH - Residential Park Homes: Understand the unique requirements for LPG installations within residential park home settings. In addition, you'll gain in-depth knowledge of:
HTRLP2 - Closed Flue LPG Fires: Master the servicing and maintenance of closed flue LPG fire systems.
Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures: Be prepared to respond effectively to gas emergencies.
Characteristics of LPG: Understand the properties of LPG for safe and efficient operation.
LPG Supply Pressures: Learn about pressure regulation and safe cylinder handling techniques.
Cylinder Location, Safety, and Sizing: Select the appropriate LPG cylinders for each application and ensure their safe positioning.
Installation of Pipework and Fittings (6mm to 28mm): Gain practical skills in pipework installation and secure connections.
Tightness Testing (PD, LAV, and RPH): Master leak detection procedures to ensure safe gas systems. (Total Internal Leakage ≤ 0.035 m³, Maximum Operating Pressure ≤ 37 mbar)
Prerequisites:
Initial: o A copy of your valid ACS certificate (e.g., CCN1 & CENWAT). o Proof of Gas Safe registration for at least 12 months (copies of current & previous Gas Safe Cards or confirmation email from Gas Safe Register).
Renewal: o To be completed within 12 months of your existing qualification's expiry date. o Re-assessment can be done up to six months before expiry without affecting future expiry dates. o A copy of your previous LPG certificate (physical copy required).
All participants must bring photo ID and a passport-sized photo for the course.
