Description

Silversmith Bryony Knox teaches the ancient art of Chasing & Repousse- where sheet metal is formed and embossed using small steel tools, whilst held in pine pitch. All Levels.

Are you tempted to add this adaptable skill to your jewellery & silversmithing repertoire....Inspired by the stunning metalwork of the Glasgow Style or the Arts & Crafts Movement?

Suitable for all levels and experience. This 2 day course will run over a weekend from 10-5pm each day.

Over the weekend you will learn to chase in the flat, in the round and make your own chasing tools, which you will leave with.

Materials such as copper sheet, bowls and tooled steel are all included in the cost.

The class will be no larger than 3 people and held in Bryony's own colourful and eclectic workshop at Coburg House Studios in Leith, Edinburgh.

Due to Covid19 restrictions Bryony cannot provide tea, coffee but she will point you in the direction of some great local Leith Deli's and coffee shops where you can pick up lunch or feel free to bring your own.

In accordance with Covid19 Safety measures students are provided with disposable masks and/ or visors to wear. The class size is now 3 students rather than 6, with work spaces socially distanced by 2 meters. All tools are sanitised before use.
