About Berfin Aksu

In 2006, Berfin became the youngest soloist in Turkey to play with an orchestra. Since then, she has performed in countless concerts, masterclasses and recitals. In 2007, she received The Great Artist of the Future special award from the Young Enterprise Governance Confederation. In 2008, she won the 1st prize at the 3rd Gulden Turali Violin Competition in Mersin, and also earned the Best Interpretation of a Turkish Composer award. In May 2009, she won the 2nd prize at the 16th International Andrea Postacchini Violin Competition in Italy. Aksu was awarded for the 1st Prize at the 14th Remember Enescu International Violin Competition along with Best Enescu Interpretation Award and Constantin Dragoi special award in Italy, December 2009. In May 2010, Berfin won the first prize at the 52nd International Kocianova Violin Competition in Czech Republic. In May 2011, Berfin won the Young Musician of the Year under age 17 in the Donizetti-Andante Classical Music Prizes competition, and performed a piano trio with pianist Idil Biret and cellist Dorukhan Doruk.
