The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) formerly known as CTLLS, is suitable for those who are in or just about to start a teaching or training role. Learners will build a portfolio of evidence that will include written work, a teaching log and teaching observations. The qualification can be completed remotely by distance learning. 

Learners will achieve 36 credits across 6 units:

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

  • Delivering education and training

  • Using resources for education and training

  • Assessing learners in education and training

  • Planning to meet the needs of learners

  • Inclusive practice

Duration:Typically, distance learning students complete this course within 6-9 months although students are able to take up to 12 months to complete the qualification
Assessments:

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which must cover all assessment criteria of the units selected. 

Assessment methods include written essays, a training log (30hrs), self-reflection and 3 x one hour teaching observations. 

Who should do this course?The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF) formerly known as CTLLS, is suitable for those who are in a teaching or training role and wish to develop further knowledge. It is also suitable for trainee teachers as well as those who have experience in a teaching role. 
Pre-requisites:Learners must be aged 19+ years to be enrolled onto this course. You must be in a training or teaching role, or moving into a teaching role in the near future as you must be able to log 30 hours of teaching/training and be observed for three hours.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive an externally accredited certificate by Focus Awards, a nationally recognised and Ofqual regulated awarding organisation.

    You should complete the qualification within 12 months. Deadlines for submission of specific work can be agreed with your tutor.

  • Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)
