RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Online Theory Course

The RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Online Theory Course is an online theory course designed to suit those who have a lot of experience at sea but have no formal qualifications. Alternatively, perhaps you have completed the Day Skipper course but your skills are a little rusty and underused. The RYA Yachtmaster Course Fast Track course will provide a little more background on each topic before moving onto the advanced skills of the Yachtmaster syllabus.

Is The Fast Track Course For Me?

If you are familiar with tidal heights, IRPCS, and Meteorology, have been on the water for years, but don't have any formal qualifications, or its been a while since you did your Day Skipper, then the Fast Track is for you.

If you're unfamiliar with tidal heights, IRPCS, or Meteorology then you should start with your RYA Day Skipper. If you have recently completed your Day Skipper and have been gaining experience with these skills with a desire to learn more, and if you meet the course requirements, you should head straight into the RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore Course.

What You Can Do With An RYA Coastal Skipper Or Yachtmaster Offshore Qualification

The RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore Theory certificate is a prerequisite for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore practical assessments. With a Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore certificate you can charter a yacht, reduce your insurance premium or even work at sea up to 150 miles from the shore. It is ideal for those with skippering experience who are wishing to hone their skills, expand their horizons, and voyage further afield.

How Is The RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Course Delivered?

We cover all the course material in text AND video so that you can choose which works best for you.

You will be led through the RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track online course module by module with each module broken up into lessons and knowledge checks. We have designed the lessons to be as engaging as possible and the knowledge checks are implemented to consolidate your knowledge and keep you on track when completing our RYA online courses.

At the end of each module there will be a 'module assessment.' These will be made up of the official RYA exercise questions and will give you some familiarity of what the final exam will look like. Your answers to the module assessments are checked by our qualified instructors, your results are saved, and you'll be given personal feedback on your progress.

What About The RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Exam?

Once all the Yachtmaster Fast Track coursework has been completed, we will help you decide if you are ready for the online RYA Yachtmaster Theory exam. The Yachtmaster exam is broken in to three papers. It's all completed at home, in a format that you will be familiar with from the Yachtmaster Fast Track module assessments, and you'll be given feedback from your examiner.

There are no extra fees for the exam (unless you need it invigilated for commercial purposes*).

This is not an attendance course and we cannot guarantee everyone who signs up that they will pass the Yachtmaster Fast Track Theory online exam and get a certificate. However, we do endeavour to coach every student to a passing standard and inspire them along the way and we promise that so long as you are willing to put the effort in and accept our guidance, we won’t give up on you until you pass.

After completing your online RYA Yachtmaster Fast Track Theory online qualification, you will have the theory needed to take charge of a motor or sail boat in day or night, and in the most challenging coastal and offshore environments.

You will walk away with the RYA Yachtmaster Shorebased certificate. To obtain the full RYA Yachtmaster qualification you will also need to complete the practical exam at a practical centre of your choosing.

*A few students intending to use the RYA Yachtmaster certificate for the MCA Large Yacht qualifications (such as Officer of the Watch or Master 3000) may need to get their final exam invigilated. We will arrange this at the most convenient location available to you, however, as it may involve getting a third party invigilator, there may be a small additional fee to be paid directly to the invigilator.
